Our cadets follow our specially designed curriculum to learn new skills and earn badges. The subjects of these badges vary across our four age groups, Kororā, Hoiho, Blue and Gold, but at all levels our programme aims to teach our rangatahi to better care for themselves, care for others, and care for their communities.

Hi guys I just wanted to share this with all the parents out their that are not on TikTok
Let’s keep our young people safe 💕

We are aware there is a graphic video depicting su***de doing the rounds on social media (particularly TikTok) and we know it has caused considerable distress for some viewers. Need to talk? Free call or text 1737 to chat with a trained counsellor or contact Youthline on 0800 376 633 or free text 234.

Please avoid TikTok and other social media if you need to (now and at any time). Your mental health and safety are precious and we want you to know that. If you've seen it and feel distressed, angry, upset or anything else, know your reaction is human and you deserve help and support.

Do not share this video or places where it can be found under any circumstances. We advise parents and caregivers to be extra vigilant when monitoring social media at the moment.

Police, Netsafe, social media platforms and other authorities are working hard to remove the video but this will take time. Until then, it's up to us to step in and take care of each other.
