I arrived with an open mind and a lot of curiosity. I left feeling inspired, expanded, and honestly a little bit in awe of the human body and its innate intelligence. What struck me most was how intelligent and responsive the body truly is and how much can shift when we listen carefully and work with it rather than trying to force change.

So much of what I already feel when I’m working with clients, like when I see the subtle shifts, the deep relaxation, the sense that the body knows what it needs, suddenly had language and structure around it.

It reinforced something I experience again and again in my sessions that when the nervous system feels safe, the body begins to unwind in its own time and in its own way.

I’m looking forward to gently weaving some of this learning into the work I’m already doing, supporting the body’s natural ability to restore balance.

Many women going through perimenopause or menopause describe the same experience. They can fall asleep without too much trouble but wake up suddenly around 3am feeling completely alert and unable to get back to sleep.

Hormonal changes during this stage of life can influence sleep cycles, cortisol rhythms and the sensitivity of the nervous system.

The result is that your body may shift into “wakefulness” much earlier than it used to which is so frustrating especially when you’re already tired.

Supporting the nervous system during menopause can help the body settle more easily back into deeper rest. Gentle, regulating massage is one way to support the nervous system during this transition. I'm called "the lady who makes me sleep!" by one client which makes me smile 😊 You might be surprised at how a gentle nervous system therapy can affect your sleep positively.

If this experience feels familiar, you’re certainly not alone.

You can find more about my menopause support massage on my website.

There’s a common misconception that massage is just for “tight shoulders” or a once-in-a-while treat.

But many of the women I see are living with things that don’t always get talked about.

If you live with:

• Rheumatoid arthritis or joint tenderness• Fibromyalgia or persistent body aches• Carpal tunnel or repetitive strain• Ongoing neck, shoulder, or lower back discomfort• Headaches linked to stress or tension• Perimenopause or menopause related body changes• Anxiety that sits in the body• Difficulty sleeping or fully switching off (I'm known as the "woman who makes me sleep at night" by one client!• Burnout, overwhelm, or nervous system overload• That constant “wired but tired” feeling

Holistic massage can gently support you. Not by “fixing” or diagnosing. But by helping your nervous system shift out of fight-or-flight and into a state where your body can soften, circulate, and repair more efficiently.

When the nervous system feels safer, muscles guard less. Inflammatory stress can settle, breathing deepens and sleep improves. And that can change everything.

I always work alongside your existing medical care and within your comfort levels. Every session is tailored, gentle and responsive.

If you’ve been quietly managing something for a long time and wondering whether massage could help then this might be your sign to explore it.

Every practitioner begins somewhere.

For me, it was the realisation that flower growing (my previous work) was no longer igniting joy in me and I had this quiet inner knowing that I wanted to help people. A bit ambiguous but it's how I felt. So I trained in Holistic Massage Therapy still not really knowing what this journey was going to look like.

Since then the path has unfolded step by step. Right now I’m deep in preparation for my Anatomy & Physiology exam learning about muscles and their origins and insertions, bones and the cranial nerves and all the incredible intelligence of the human body (and yes… wondering how I will fit it all into my brain because GCSE biology was a long time ago now)

But this journey has never only been about muscles. Early on it was the nervous system — how your body holds stress, protects you, adapts, and sometimes forgets how to soften that began to speak to me. This learning is becoming the backbone of my work. When you enter my space we don’t just address tension and physical discomfort we work with your whole system, gently supporting body and nervous system together.

I’m deeply grateful to the clients who have trusted me in these early days and to those who continue to return. You are part of this unfolding journey too.

Those who know me will know that there is more to come and I am quietly building more layers to my work which I’ll share in time.

What I’ve learnt (the biggest thing I've learnt) — both professionally and personally — is that a new path doesn’t appear all at once. It begins with one authentic step. When the intention is true, the “how” slowly reveals itself.

This is what being brave can look like:one small step taken with trust. And then another one.

If your body has been asking for a softer, more supportive approach, I would love to support you.

Did you know your nervous system is always listening?

Not just to big stress but to the constant background hum of your life.

Rushing. Holding your breath without realising. Jaw clenched. Shoulders lifted. Pushing through because you’re functioning even though you don’t feel great.

When your nervous system perceives stress, your body shifts into protection mode. Blood flow is prioritised to muscles and the brain while things like digestion, repair and hormone balance take a back seat.

This is why so many women feel:
• bloated or uncomfortable by evening
• wired but exhausted
• tense even when they’re “resting”

It’s not a willpower issue. It’s a safety signal.

The good news is that your body is incredibly responsive when it feels safe again.

Simple cues can help like softening your shoulders, unclenching your jaw, slowing one task down instead of rushing, being held in stillness, warmth and steady touch

Massage works on this level by gently signalling to your nervous system that it’s safe to come out of fight-or-flight and back into balance.

If your body has been quietly asking for support, you’re not imagining it. And you don’t need to wait until burnout to listen.

Did you know your gut is listening to your nervous system?

When life feels full and you’re constantly on - tired but wired, anxious, pushing through — your body often shifts into a stress response. In this state digestion isn’t a priority. Blood flow, energy and attention are redirected to help you cope and processes like digestion and repair quietly downshift in the background.

Over time this can show up as bloating, sluggish digestion, reflux, or that heavy, uncomfortable feeling after meals. Not because you’re doing something wrong but because your body is trying to protect you.

The gut, immune system and nervous system are deeply connected. When the nervous system doesn’t feel safe enough to soften, the gut often struggles to fully relax into rest and digest.

This is why nervous system support matters. Healing doesn’t happen in a body that still feels like it has to brace.

Massage isn’t just about muscles. It can be a gentle way to support the parasympathetic nervous system by helping the body shift out of survival mode and back into regulation. This is where digestion, repair and restoration are better supported.

If this resonates and your body feels like it’s been running on empty for a while, you’re very welcome here 🤍
Bookings are available via the link in my bio, or feel free to message me if you’re unsure which session would suit you.

I’ve been having many conversations about this lately.

If you’ve been feeling wired, exhausted, flat or anxious… it doesn’t always mean you’re “falling apart.” Sometimes it’s your nervous system doing its job of protecting you. Wired can be your body staying on high alert so you don’t drop your guard. Anxiety can be your system trying to predict and prevent what might go wrong. Exhaustion can be the brakes being applied to conserve energy. And feeling flat can be the body turning the volume down because feeling everything would be too much.

And when you feel like this, your mind naturally wants a solution and pushing can feel like the safest one. Like the woman who’s already running on fumes, but signs up to the 6am workouts, cuts her calories, adds more supplements, keeps saying yes to everything… because if she can “get on top of it,” she’ll finally feel okay again.

But often the nervous system doesn’t need more pressure — it needs more safety. ✨

I have a few sessions available next week if you’d like support to soften, reset, and come back to yourself. I've also opened up February bookings too.

Bookings are open via Timely (link in bio).

I feel like the narrative is quietly shifting.

Less “I’m so busy”
and more
“I’m trying to find the sweet spot.”

That place where we can work, contribute and care without abandoning our health or our bodies in the process.

A client said to me recently,
“This is my year of being kind to my nervous system.”

That sentence stayed with me.

From a physiological point of view it makes sense. Accessing the parasympathetic nervous system — the part of us responsible for rest, repair and healing — isn’t a luxury. It’s a biological necessity.

I think many people are beginning to tune in to this new narrative even if they’re only just beginning to find the words 🤍

I would love to know if you've been feeling this too.

As the year comes to a close, I’m feeling quietly grateful.

This has been a year of gentle shifts, new learning and the beginnings of work that feels deeply aligned.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, booked in, rebooked, shared kind words or simply followed along. It has meant more than you know.

I’m now stepping into a short Christmas pause; a time to rest, recalibrate and be present.

Wishing you a soft, nourishing Christmas and a peaceful transition into the new year.

After a massage people can experience many different things.
You might feel deeply relaxed and sleepy. You might feel lighter, clearer, or quietly emotional. Some people feel a little spaced-out or notice a sense of softness moving through their body.

These responses are signs that your nervous system is shifting out of stress and into rest.

Gentle bodywork isn’t about force it’s about creating enough safety for the body to let go.

This is why I always encourage you to take your time afterwards; to sit, breathe, drink water, and allow your body to integrate before heading back into your day.

When the nervous system settles, healing processes are better supported.
