Heartspace Heartspace is a page where I share what moves me in daily life. I have a wide varity of interests: y I am an essential oil educator.

Heartspace Wellness Solutions has been created by Silke Whittaker, a yoga teacher, sound healer, reiki master, essential oil educator, artist, mama, wife and explorer of the inside and outside world. I used to own a yoga studio in Hastings, New Zealand and loved to share the practice of yoga, sound healing and aromatherapy on a regular basis with my clients. After a sabbatical with my family overseas for 2 years I currently offer one off yoga & sound healing group sessions around Hawke's Bay when time allows. I also love working one on one with clients either for sound healing & reiki sessions or to customise a yoga practice just for you. I am passionate about using doTerra essential oils and love to teach how they can be used to improve your health and home care with these pure gifts from mother nature. doTERRA's sourcing practices and quality are impeccable, which is why I have been working with them for around 6 years now. To stitch or not to stitch. That is the question.

So hard to know if an artwork is finished or not.

This one is called "the odd one". Representing how I felt much of my life, but now realising that I still fit in the big picture somewhat.

Do you think stitching with gold thread would enhance it or make it too much?

Feeling tired.
Last weeks weather event made me realise that I do have weather anxiety after all the floods in recent years and being so vulnerable living close to the river and sea.

I love it most of the time, but if storms come along I am on edge. Thank goodness our community stayed safe this time, but I am so sad for the families who lost loved ones, their home and income and whos communities will take a long time to recover and rebuild. Life really can change in a flash, change is a constant in life, knowing how fragile our existence is...

This week I have been grateful to still have a cosy home, that my family is healthy and alive and that we have an income and food on the table.

Back to my artwork. Stitch by stitch staying in the present moment and grateful for all the gifts and comforts in my life.

My regular weekly sessions are starting back soon:

Tuesday 3rd February at The Yoga Space in Hastings
8 week term, $144 or $20 casual spot or Koha

Wednesday 4th February at Keirunga Homestead in Havelock North
9 week term, $162 or $20 casual spot or Koha

2 hour Yin Yoga, Sound Healing & Yoga Nidra Experience
Sunday, 22nd February and 22nd March, 3.30 - 5.30 pm
The Pavillion in Haumoana

Outdoor Yoga at Hygge is on every Saturday 7.30 - 8.45
$15 Koha, there is a rotation of teachers every week
Sessions are weather dependent - check out Insta for updates
Please bring your own yoga gear and wear layers, maybe sunnies and water.
My allocated sessions are 7th February and 14th March

Our Story

Heartspace has been created by Silke Whittaker, a yoga teacher, sound healer, reiki master & essential oil educator, mama, wife, truthteller and explorer of the inside and outside world. I used to own a yoga studio in Hastings, New Zealand and loved to share the practice of yoga, soundhealing and aromatherapy on a regular basis with my clients. Now a new adventure is calling, living on a sailboat with my husband, 2 children and our dog and getting back to basics. I will share my insights and adventures with you and yoga, sound healing, aromatherapy, mindfulness, meditation will still be a big part of my life. I am looking forward to really immersing myself in my own practice, reading, digesting and internalising my insights, writing more, drawing more, spending more time looking into my childrens and husbands eyes and being present for myself and my family. I am also an essential oil educator. I am passionate about my doTerra oils and love to teach how they can be used to improve your home, health and body care with these gifts from nature. I am still sharing the oils from our boat and educate my clients how to use them safely and efficiently, either online or personally if we cross paths.
