It’s Measles Immunisation Week!
Measles spreads fast but the good news is, it’s preventable. This week is all about keeping our communities protected.
🛡️ The MMR vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella) is free for everyone under 18.
❓ Not sure if you or your kiddies are immunised? We can check your record for you.
📅 If you haven't received your two doses, give us a call and we'll sort you out!

You can also contact Ka Ora on 0800 252 672 between 5:30pm to 8:30am weekdays and they are also available 24 hours a day over weekends and public holidays. Give Moa Medical a call during the week if you have any concerns.

A dedicated Disability Helpline is also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support disabled people. For measles or general enquiries call free on 0800 11 12 13or text 8988 for help and information.

Symptoms usually begin 10–14 days after exposure and last 4–7 days. They include:

🔺Rash that starts on the face and spreads over the body
🔺Fever
🔺Cough
🔺Red and watery eyes
🔺Small white spots inside the cheeks
🔺Running nose

👉 If you or your child show these signs, seek medical care immediately. Vaccination is the best protection.

This spring, the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s specialist breast nurses will be travelling the country in their bright pink campervans, offering free breast health advice to our communities. From advice about mammograms and self-checks to healthy lifestyles and family risk, they are here to talk about all things breast health.

The Pink Campervan will be in Taranaki this month. No appointments needed, just pop in, have a chat, and say hi!
