We are proudly a not-for profit here at Marinoto, owned by the Inglewood Welfare Society (IWS). Everything we do is for the benefit of our residents, their family and the wider Inglewood Community.
All of the members of the IWS board make significant contributions to Marinoto in many ways and is made up of generous volunteers, who give their time and expertise to support the wellbeing of our residents and the ongoing development of our home.

Today we’d like to acknowledge Katrina Knowles, one of our long-time dedicated IWS board members. Katrina is known for her proactive approach, thoughtful insights, and genuine commitment to the success of Marinoto.
Her positivity, teamwork, and contributions make a real difference.

Our latest Activity Calendar is here! We've got a great variety planned, ranging from games and light exercises, to visits from cute little people and talented entertainers, so there really is something for everyone.

If you know someone who'd love a day out in a comfortable, caring and safe space, with great company, good food and some fun activities, we'd love to have them join us.

The first day is FREE and you can come as much, or as little as you like.

We are looking for 2 casual/part‑time (with the potential to become permanent part-time) Kitchen Hands to join our friendly and dedicated kitchen team.

🎄On Wednesday afternoon we all came together to celebrate the festive season in true Marinoto style!
It was a wonderful time filled with friends and family, laughter, music from the talented Timeless Therapy, a visit from Santa, a truly special cutting of the cake, and delicious food lovingly prepared by our dedicated cooks and team.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event so special. And an extra big thank you to our amazing staff for all their hard work behind the scenes to bring this celebration to life.

Wishing you all a season filled with warmth, joy, and cherished moments. Thank you for your support throughout the year, we look forward to creating more memories together in 2026 🌟

We've been spoilt with visits from St Patrick's School Inglewood, Inglewood Primary School and Best Start Inglewood recently - the residents absolutely loved the talented performances, beautiful singing and wonderful handmade cards, gifts and flowers.
Thank you to the awesome teachers and students for taking the time to come and make our days special, and we hope you all enjoyed Lyn's famous chocolate fish 😋

🌞What stunning weather we had for the Inglewood Christmas parade this year! Many of our residents and staff took a trip down to watch as the awesome floats went by (you may have even spotted one of our residents IN the parade) - we all had a wonderful time and felt the Christmas joy!
Thank you to Cue Theatre, Inglewood for allowing us to set up out the front and for Marinoto staff who generously volunteered time on their day off to help.

🎄Not long after we got back, the impressive Taranaki Freemasons Parade float turned up here at Marinoto, and the team handed out thoughtful Christmas gifts to each of our residents. What a generous, wonderful and kind gesture. You really made our day - thank you so much!

🍖The next day, with luck on our side, a big thank you goes to Murray Gordon for the winning nominating for Marinoto to WIN a nice big Christmas ham from The Bunns Harcourts Inglewood competition. Maurice and Lyn were very happy to receive the generous prize, and we can't wait to enjoy this during our Christmas celebrations. Thank you so much Casey & Lisa!

We have some very special people working here at Marinoto, who turn up day after day, always doing their best and caring for the amazing residents we have living here.

This week was our official staff appreciation week. Every day something different was planned to acknowledge their hard work and dedication and the way they display the Marinoto values in everything they do.
Staff appreciation week included long service awards, a staff vs. residents bowls tournament (where the residents won...of course!) and Mr Whippy ice creams, cupcake decorating comp and rock painting session, an Inglewood wide scavenger hunt - a huge thank you to Stanleigh Garden, Fun Ho Toy Museum, The Cool Shop, Inglewood Community & Food Hub, Lorraine at The Book Shop and Peter for taking part in our hunt and making it extra special for the team.

Finally, we held an awards evening to honour those nominated by staff and residents, ran raffles, ate good food, and placed the painted rocks around our sensory garden in remembrance of those who have passed this year.

A huge thank you to CEO Roo and Clinical Manager Bee (and everyone who contributed to the organisation of the events), for making this amazing week happen, you've truly made everyone feel seen and valued.

Behind the Care: Meet Myree 🌾

When the family farm was sold, Myree found herself at a crossroads. Nursing and caregiving had always been on her mind, so in 2021 she joined Marinoto as a Healthcare Assistant. Her natural empathy and strong work ethic quickly made her a trusted member of our team, and she soon grew into a Senior HCA.

For Myree, the best part of the job is the people:
“It’s the residents, my colleagues, and the atmosphere that make Marinoto such an enjoyable place to be.”
