How good to have this new clinic opening soon!
Like and share for future reference!
COMING SOON!...
We are excited to share with you our Acute Injury Services. Corina, our Senior Physiotherapist who has a background in Sports Physiotherapy supported with a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy and post-graduation qualifications in Sports Medicine, is teaming up with Karen Dinnington. Karen is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner in acute care, with a subspeciality in peri-operative care. Karen has 20+ years of experience working in theatre under the supervision of an orthopaedic surgeon. Karen has further interests in concussion and cardiac therapy.
The combination of skillsets allows for the treatment of acute minor accidents and emergencies, where acute assessment and management will be provided, including minor burns and simple wound care, and if necessary, suturing, medical certification & acute care medical prescription.
This service will be available from 2pm-6pm, Tuesday and Friday afternoons, from Tuesday 11th November. We'll be taking bookings for these clinics from the 4th November. If you were to hurt yourself on a Tuesday or a Friday, there is a possibilty that we could see you the same day!
We envisage that this service will run similarly to A&E, bookings are essential, and all patients will be screened for appropriateness. Our strict criteria for these appointments are:
- Minor accidents and emergencies ONLY
- Date of injury must be less than 7days
- Minor burns and simple wounds
- NO life or limb threatening injuries
- NO illness
If appropriate we will refer patients on for primary investigations and it is our intention to be able to refer patients back to their Primary Health Providers.
We are taking referrals from wherever/whoever. Please, get in touch with us!
