We have some of the best caregivers in the aged care business who take real pride in helping to make Waikiwi Gardens the best place in Invercargill. We offer a top class activities program with a huge variety of outtings, crafts and entertainment. With fresh home baking on a daily basis and a huge variety of different meals offered, one of the biggest complaints we hear is how good the food is! Our wonderful chef and cook ensure all dietary needs are met and take real pride in what they serve. At Waikiwi Gardens we enable residents to live as independently as they wish but always safe in the knowledge that we provide the very best in nursing care should they need it. Our facilities, and the people that help to run them, are there to provide support and stimulation and to help maximise each and every resident’s physical, intellectual emotional and social well-being.

Happy Melbourne Cup day everyone!🏇🏇 Here's the lovely Judi all dressed up as a neat looking jockey! while displaying some of her really interesting items to our residents to enjoy, all to do with horse racing as she had some horses that have won many times!!!!!! 🥇🏅🥇

Inside to keep warm with a game of floor Scrabble was played instead while listening to some Country gospel music. Donna's request was the word to start with was RIVERTON. We didn't use up all the letters but they residents did well with words they came up with!

Our Story

Waikiwi Gardens is more than just a place to live, it’s a rest home with heart, community and friendly faces. We pride ourselves on our community and family-based approach to care, treating all of our residents with the same respect you’d expect in a home environment. Our rest home is a beautiful and peaceful place, with the surrounding gardens often in bloom and providing a tranquil setting for our residents

The rest home caters for a variety of residents, including respite and palliative care. With a nurse on-call 24 hours a day and some of the best caregivers in the aged care industry, our residents have the best access to care and always safe and looked after. Our facilities, and the people that run them, provide support and stimulation to maximise each and every resident’s physical, intellectual emotional and social well-being. Our rest home and respite care is suitable for DHB-funded residents and respite care is also available for ACC clients.

We offer a busy activity programme with a huge variety of outings, crafts and entertainment. With fresh home baking on a daily basis and a huge variety of different meals offered, one of the biggest complaints we hear is how good the food is. Our wonderful cooks ensure all dietary needs are met and take pride in what they serve.

Waikiwi Gardens Rest Home also offers a day programme called Social Seniors. The programme is an opportunity for those outside of the rest home to come to us for the day, enjoy a hot meal and spend the day with fellow seniors in a range of varied and engaging activities. Transport to and from the rest home is provided.
