Good morning on this lovely crisp morning.
Some words for you to contemplate on for the week.

Recognising the Pattern Within

In the light of the Reiki precepts, we are invited to take full responsibility for what arises within us, especially when we feel triggered.

Just for today, do not fuel anger… is not a command to suppress, but a compassionate reminder to pause, to witness.

Anger, like all emotions, is a messenger. Yet so often, we direct our reaction outward, convinced that another person or situation is the cause of our suffering. This is a well-worn pattern, a habit of the false self—a belief that if we react or retaliate, the inner discomfort will lessen.

But true healing begins when we turn inward and recognise:
This reaction lives in me. This is my work.

When we respond from anger, we repeat and grow the cycle of hurt. But when we breathe, become still, and choose not to speak or act in the heat of the moment, we allow the precepts to anchor us in responsibility, awareness, and compassion and strengthen the practise of awareness.

Through this practice, we dissolve the illusion of blame.
And with gentleness, we begin to shift the pattern—from reaction to understanding, from projection to presence.

Just for today… may I be kind to myself and others.
Even in the storm.

About the Retreat

The discussions will be based on Emotional Wisdom, the ability to effectively manage one’s own emotions, particularly the disturbing ones, and thus cultivate a calm mind, a warm heart and provide a clearer perspective on life.

About Venerable Khadro
Venerable Khadro was born in Venezuela of European parents, raised in Argentina and after completing a degree in Business Administration, she emigrated to New Zealand in 2004, where she first encountered Tibetan Buddhism. She took ordination in 2014 with the Great Master Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

Since then Khadro has engaged in formal Buddhist studies, including the completion of the Master Programme in Buddhist Philosophy. She has also spent months in solitary retreat including at Lawudo, a remote hermitage in the Himalayas, Nepal.

Khadro has served the FPMT, an International Buddhist Organization for the past 20 years in various roles, and is currently the Resident Teacher at Yeshin Norbu Center in Stockholm. Khadro has led various courses & retreats in NZ, Australia, Sweden, Colombia, India, Nepal and Germany. Her "international" background allows her to have an open, friendly and warm manner. She is an FPMT registered teacher, a Buddhist Chaplain and an accredited Foundation for Developing Wisdom and Compassion facilitator-FDWC.
