Ever wondered how mapping works? As a part of our we've been working something new in our Space Builder platform — introducing Visual Maps.

Under the hood Visual Maps simply takes any data file and display the points on a map, making it easier to understand, explore, and work with location-based information.

It’s a simple but powerful idea: take raw data and turn it into something visual, practical, and easier to use.

Visual Maps is part of our growing Space Builder platform — a place where we’re publishing the applications and tools we’re actively building and testing.

We’re excited about the potential of this one and what it can unlock for people working with data, places, and communities.

So a client came in and wanted to spin up a QR code. There are so many online and a quck search will return some that you can use for free. Many of them require you to sign up or provide your details for the QR code to get sent to you...

We ended up creating our own in about 5 minutes. No fluff, no signup, no ads, just a clean QR Code generator where you can download as a .png, .svg or copy and paste it into a design you're working on.

Built into our list of beta projects we're working on in you'll find our QR Code Generator. Easy to use, no extra unwanted stuff and right to the point.

🚀 We’ve been prototyping something new over the last week… and it’s now LIVE!

Introducing SpaceBuilder — a new platform we’ve developed to help people create 3D spaces in a super simple workflow:

✅ Design your layout with accurate dimensions
✅ Visualise using materials, lighting, and objects
✅ Walkthrough the space in first-person so you can feel what you’ve built

What makes this extra special for us is that SpaceBuilder has been created as part of our Curious Minds programme, which has just kicked off for 2026. We’ve been exploring how fast we can take an idea from “what if…” to a working product — and SpaceBuilder is the result of that sprint.

- This is an awesome free concept and it’s open for everyone to try.
- You can also save your projects locally to your device as .json files (so you can keep your work, share it, and reload it later).

It’s been a busy few months! We’re still blazing ahead with and moving into our next phase of learning: generating background assets for games and other projects in AI.

We’re diving into mapping, GIS, and open data from all over Aotearoa New Zealand — councils, government departments, organisations, and hobbyists alike — and exploring how all these data sources can be integrated into our projects.

We’ve loved experimenting with different models in and working in . AI agents and generation make the journey from idea to concept to product a breeze. CI/CD and reviews? Easy peasy. 😄

And… we’ve also started our easy listening channel, created entirely with AI. 🎧

We’ve been deep diving with GitHub Copilot to supercharge our coding—and the results have been awesome! There are plenty of AI agents out there, but Copilot fits perfectly with the toolset our kids have used for over a year, making it easy to layer in new coding helpers without switching context.

Check out one demo on-screen that was built in under five minutes 🧐😂

Each class kicks off with a 5-minute game challenge: students dream up a mini-game, then cast and demo it to the whole group after the 5 minutes is up. It’s quick, fun, and a great way to sharpen presentation and speaking skills—practice builds confidence!

We’ve been having a blast with our Curious Minds crew lately — exploring how to use GitHub Copilot in VS Code to build something awesome from scratch! 😄

The kids have been learning about agent programming and how AI tools like Copilot can actually help you write code, fix bugs, and even suggest ideas as you go. Together, we've been working on a free educational app that helps people learn different subjects — and it's already taking shape!
