This round we are excited to welcome Kylie Turnbull from REAP, a dedicated kaitautoko in ECE and Kōhanga Reo. Kylie brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for supporting māmā and tamariki.

Mauri ora e te whānau! ☀️

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Te Wiki o te reo Māori. And, coincidentally, September is also the month that the most pēpi are born. As you’ve probably seen in our stories, we’re celebrating by spreading positive kupu for all our whānau out there!

Looking back to look forward, we reflect on some beautiful kupu from Dame Iritana Tawhiwhirangi – the backbone of the kōhanga reo movement of the 1980s:
“Te timatanga o te reo kei ngā waiū o te whaea” – “The beginning of language is at the breast of a mother.”

We’re so excited to honour our reo, wāhine, and the generations they continue to inspire.

Oops I forgot to post our hikoi pic last week! Sophie and I braved the mist and got a much needed lap in. Some days the weather isn’t the best, but starting your day with a walk always makes you feel better!

Today was all sunshine and warm Spring vibes! You can definitely feel the shift in the seasons ☀️🌸🌼🌱

We walk every Thursday throughout the term. Come join us next week ☺️
