Parlour, John (Gary)

Passed away on the 17th of March following a brief illness in the care of the Switzer Home.
Aged 90.

Loving wife Kate. Children – Ruth, Myra (deceased), Jane, James, Malcolm, Gavin, & Campbell. 17 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren. Graveside service will be held on Friday 20th March at 11am at Waipapakauri Cemetery. Followed by time of remembrance at the Waipapakauri Hotel.

The Family would like to thank the staff of the Switzer Home for all of the love and care during his stay.

Marg passed away at Switzer Home, Kaitaia in the early hours of 17 March 2026.

Dearly loved soul mate of Jiggs for 75 years. Loved and cherished mum and mum-in-law of Grant and Karyn, Gayle and John, and cherished nana of Deirdre and Nick, Natalie and Liam, and her 6 great-grandchildren.

A huge thanks to the amazing staff of Switzer Home for their dedication, care and respect they showed to Margaret over the past 15 months.

A funeral service will be held at Geards Funeral Home on Saturday 21 March 2026 at 11am followed by a private cremation.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Dementia Prevention Research would be greatly appreciated and can be made online via their website:

Alternatively, a donation box will be available at the funeral service for those who wish to contribute, and all donations will be forwarded to the organisation.

Matua Vali remains in our care and is being carefully prepared. Our whānau room is open for anyone who wishes to spend some time there. We expect Matua to be ready around 4 -5:30 pm this evening.

Whānau pani will advise in their own time where Matua Vali will be laying and what the rest of the proceedings will look like.

Eldest son of Raymond and Mary Rasmussen.

Aged 93 years.
Son of Vernon Morris & Violet Lois Emma Thompson.
Much loved brother and brother-in-law to the late Flora & Joe Wilson, the late Ada “Sissy” Henderson, the late Pat Thompson, Elaine Taylor and the late Graham Taylor and all his nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Ron’s life, will be held at The Mangonui Fire Station, on Tuesday 10 th March at 1pm, followed by burial at Mangonui Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully on the 1st February 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving whanau.

Joseph will lay in state at his home on Takahue place, Kaitaia tonight (Sunday 1st Feb). Monday morning at 10am Joseph will arrive at Pukemiro Kura where he will stay until 2:30pm. Tuesday morning he will make his final journey to Whakatane, where he will lay one night at Taewhakaea Marae, his tangi will be held on Wednesday morning 10am followed by nehu at Paroa urupa in Whakatane.
