Nothing beats a family day out exploring Aotearoa’s stunning cycling trails! From sea views, mountain trails, and magical tunnels, we are absolutely spoiled for choice.

But cycling with kids often comes with a few wobbles. Whether it’s a gravel-rash or a sneaky splinter from an old wooden bridge, being the parent, means being prepared.

When you're deep in the Redwoods or halfway across the Otago Central Rail Trail, the nearest pharmacy can feel worlds away. Carrying a compact Parachute First Aid kit in your bag isn't just about safety; it’s about keeping the fun going. A small scrape can end a trip if you can't clean it, but with a quick patch-up, you’re back in the saddle in minutes!

You don’t need to carry a full hospital, but you do need these must haves that you will find in our kits and on our website!

Antiseptic Wipes: Essential for cleaning off that North Island dust or South Island mud before patching a graze.

Assorted Plasters: Fun styles and the coloured Woolaid plasters help distract from the "ouch factor"!

Saline Solution: Perfect for flushing grit out of eyes or gravel out of knees.

Triangular Bandage: Not just for breaks, it makes a great emergency sunshade or a way to secure a loose ice pack.

Splinter probe: For those pesky splinters or the occasional gorse prickle.

Pure Electrolyte Sachets: NZ sun is fierce; a quick boost keeps "hanger" and dehydration at bay.

Pro-Tip: Pack a few "distraction treats" (aka chocolate fish or gummy snakes) in your kit. They are scientifically proven to cure 90% of trail-side tears.

Safe riding out there!

Let them explore! 🪨🦀

Rock hopping is a developmental powerhouse.
When kids navigate uneven terrain, they are:
Building Agility: Developing balance and core strength.
Problem Solving: Mapping out the best path in real-time.
Assessing Risk: Learning to trust their own judgment and grip.

But part of "risky play" is being prepared for when the risk... well, happens.

A slipped foot or a scraped knee is often just a "battle scar" that ends the fun early if you aren’t prepared.
Carrying a Parachute first aid kit means you can clean the graze, pop on a plaster, and get back to the rock pools in minutes.

🌧️ Rainy Day = Prep Day!

I’m not sure where in New Zealand you’re reading this from right now, but up here in Northland, the weather is absolutely terrible! 💨🌧️

Since the great outdoors is currently off-limits, it’s the perfect time to stay dry inside and do a quick "Ready Check" on your gear.

When the weather turns, it's a blunt reminder that being prepared isn't just a good idea - it’s essential.

The 3-Step Rainy Day Audit:

Check Expiry Dates: Are your creams, wipes, or medications still in date?

Restock the Essentials: Did you use up the last of the bandages or plasters?

Inspect Your Kit: Ensure everything is sealed, organized, and easy to grab in a hurry.

Got no kit at all?
Don't wait for the next big storm or a local emergency to realize you’re unprepared. Whether it’s for your pack, house, the car, or your four-legged best friend, we have a kit designed for the job.

Stay safe and dry out there everyone!

Sand in your sandwich is annoying. Sand in a cut is a nightmare.

We love the beach, but cuts don't love the grit.
Whether it’s a hidden rock in the surf, a sharp shell, or just an accidental slip on the boardwalk, the ocean has a way of leaving a mark.

Don't let a scrape turn into an infection.

Your Beach Day Protocol:
1️⃣ Flush it: Use the saline ampoules in your Parachute kit to blast the sand out (ocean water can contain bacteria, so rinse with fresh water/saline if you can!).
2️⃣ Clean it: Use a sterile wipe to ensure no grit is left behind.
3️⃣ Cover it: Seal it up so you can get back to building castles.

Remember to always pack your Parachute First Aid kit in your beach bag.
It fits right next to your SPF.
