10 years of Changing Views Physiotherapy. A 10 year journey, a success built and earned over time. β¨οΈ
The world we live in is obsessed with external validationβwhat people think, how things look, how weβre perceived. But we forget to look back. To reflect on the journey. On where we started.
Ten years ago, my wife and I moved from England to New Zealand. No family. No friends. No money.
Changing Views Physio started with a self belief and in an empty room at the back of an office block.
I walked the streets of Kerikeri handing out leaflets. Visited every sports club, every team, even bloody care home! Knocked on doors. Built relationships and practiced my preach π
I worked 6 days a week. 7-7pm...many of you liked the stupid o'clock! All while Hayley had the 3 kids, including every weekend! π And not because I had toβbut because I believed in what this could become.
I travelled all over the north island with rugby. Gave talks anywhere that would have me, GPs, orthopaedics, age care and schools!!
Slowly⦠the name grew.
Built on sacrifice.
On hunger.
On a vision bigger than myself.
To give my kids a life where they donβt have to fear the pressures of the world.
After six and a half years, we bought our first home (with help from my parentsβthank you π). Then we built our own clinic, right on the main road in Kerikeri. Over the last four years, weβve created something different. Not just a clinicβbut an experience. And over time, changing views is what I did.
No quick fixes.
No βrub, tickle, or pop.β
Just real conversations. Evidence-based care.
And a genuine understanding of the human in front of us.
Now, 10 years inβmy focus has evolved.
Less chasing qualifications (after 4β5 postgrads π
), more focus on complex pain, chronic conditions, and growing something bigger than just a clinic.
And after 9 years I found a team that shares the same values, the same standards, the same drive.
To my familyβnow all five of us β€οΈ 9 years no days off, no holidays... now we've seen our spirit home twice, visited family in the UK and the tragic reality of living away π
To those who see our now, you weren't present for the journey!
10 YEARS.
