🛡️ DON’T WAIT FOR SUPER-K 🦠
You may have seen reports about a new flu strain, “Super-K” (H3N2 Subclade K), heading towards NZ.
Health experts are watching it closely because of how easily it has spread overseas. A higher number of flu cases could mean a more challenging flu season this winter.
WHO IS MOST AT RISK?
People aged 65 and over are most at risk of serious illness from the flu.
Pregnant people, young children, and those with long-term health conditions are also more vulnerable.
HOW CAN YOU PROTECT YOURSELF?
Getting your flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and those around you.
You can also help prevent the spread by staying home if you are unwell, washing your hands regularly, and covering coughs and sneezes.
REMINDER: The 2026 flu vaccine is now available at our practice. If you would like to book, please contact our team.
