Hello, beautiful souls! Today marks our last day of March, and the weather is absolutely beautiful and calm. The clear blue sky reminded me of our lovely Blue Apatite, which I thought we should explore today. Blue Apatite is a phosphate mineral that comes in various colors. It was officially identified and named in the late 18th century (1786) by German geologist Abraham Gottlob Werner. Interestingly, its name comes from the Greek word “apatao,” meaning “to deceive,” because it was often mistaken for other gems like beryl and topaz. The name also has a connection to Apate, the Greek goddess of deceit, who was one of the spirits released from Pandora’s box. So, how can we incorporate this beautiful gem into our lives today?

Hello Beautiful Souls, welcome to Friday! With March on its way out the door, April is just around the corner – so today I thought we would look at a wonderful crystal called Amazonite.

Amazonite, a vibrant green-blue microcline feldspar, has been treasured for over 10,000 years, with its history spanning from Stone Age jewelry to prominent use in ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations. Known as the "Stone of Courage" and "Stone of Hope," it was used in King Tutankhamun's treasures, Sumerian seals, and is believed to have been named in 1847 by August Breithaupt. Ancient Egyptians highly revered amazonite and it was carved into amulets, beads, and jewelry. It was often placed in tombs and was used to craft tablet chapters for the Book of the Dead. A famous scarab ring found in King Tutankhamun’s tomb is made of amazonite.

It’s beautiful green-blue hue is mesmerizing, so how do we use this beautiful crystal today?
