At Herd by Horses, we don’t focus on what’s “wrong” with someone. We look for their superpowers. Many of the young people and families who come to us have walked through challenging experiences. Over time, those experiences can shape negative core beliefs — I’m not good enough. I’m too much. I always mess up. I don’t matter etc.
But that’s not what we see.
We see strengths.
The “too sensitive” child may be deeply empathetic.
The “defiant” teen perhaps has strong leadership energy.
The “anxious” one can be incredibly perceptive.
The “shut down” child is probably protecting a very wise nervous system.
When we name these strengths — when we call them superpowers — something shifts.
Posture changes.
Energy lifts.
Hope grows.
Horses don’t see labels.
They respond to authenticity, congruence, and inner strength. And when a young person experiences being seen for what’s right with them instead of what’s “wrong,” it can be incredibly empowering.
Every person who walks onto our property carries superpowers.
Sometimes they just need someone — and a horse — to help them see it. 🐴✨
