An opportunity coming up for our rangatahi and young adults across Horowhenua

Horowhenua Enterprise Workshop
A FREE 2-day business workshop for 15–30-year-olds who are keen on entrepreneurship or wanting to start their own business.

Location: Horowhenua District Council Building, 126 Oxford Street, Taitoko
Dates: 16th & 17th March 2026
Time: 9.00am – 4.00pm
Light lunch provided

This kaupapa is more than just a workshop. Participants will also have access to:

Kia Ora E te whānau

We are excited to share our upcoming wānanga for Te Manawa Reo o Muaūpoko – a 10-week journey to strengthen te reo Māori within your whānau, your whare, and your everyday life.

Over the course of the programme you will:
* Create your own whānau language plan
* Learn beginner to intermediate level te reo Māori
* Explore Muaūpoko tikanga
* Build confidence to use te reo every day

Wānanga Dates:
Wānanga 1: 28 March at Kohuturoa Marae
Wānanga 2: 20 June at Kawiu Marae
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm

The programme runs from 28 March – 20 June 2026 and includes two in-person wānanga held in Levin, along with ten online classes.

25–30 spaces available
18+ years
Registrations open 16 February and close 15 March

Open to all Muaūpoko whānau.

Please see most up to date hearing schedule – just received - for Waitangi Tribunal District Enquiry 2200 in Wellington next week.



We are considering taking a van down on Tuesday 3rd March and Wednesday 4th March. (depending on numbers)



Please ph 063673311 and ask for Candyce or Reg if you wish to be allocated a seat. Will be meeting at MTA at 6:45am sharp

(leaving by 7:00am) Returning at 4:30pm/5pm from Wgtn to Taitoko



Otherwise we will be livestreaming from the MTA whare all week for our Muaūpoko whānau/claimants - we will set up a dedicated space for whanau to watch the hearing live and will supply manaaki etc. If anyone needs a ride to join us here at MTA – please phone.



Whanau can also livestream from their own home or smartphone where they have WiFi

Are you ready to level up your digital skills? 💻

In collaboration with Katoa Connect, we’re rolling out an exciting digital literacy kaupapa for our registered iwi members (18+).

From setting up an email, to spreadsheets, and creating a presentation you’ll gain the skills and confidence to do this on your own.

This is perfect for beginners wanting to build their digital confidence.

We will try our best to accommodate all registrations, we have limited spots available

🕒 6-7 x 2-hour weekly sessions
📍 Whānau must be based in Taitoko

In accordance with the Rules of Muaūpoko Tribal Authority Inc (Clauses 17.0 & 19.0), the MTA Board is calling for suitably qualified candidates to stand for election to the Board of Trustees.

The following positions are open:

Ngāti Hine – Elected Board Member (18-month term)
Ngāi Te Ao – Elected Board Member (18-month term)
Ngāti Pariri – Elected Board Member (18-month term)
Ngarue –
• Elected Board Member (3-year term)
• Elected Board Member (18-month term)
Punahau – Elected Board Member (18-month term)
Tamarangi –
• Elected Board Member (3-year term)
• Elected Board Member (18-month term)
