I’m a Neuromuscular Therapist (therapeutic massage therapist) trained in Wellington in 2017. I work on soft tissues to improve the movements, decrease the pain/discomfort and to improve the overall wellbeing of the body by seeking the body as a whole.
I came to NZ when I was a teenager to finished my secondary education (2 years in Foxton, and the final year in Upper Hutt) and went back to Japan. but I missed NZ so much, I decided to come back (after 17 years!). I moved back to NZ (Wellington) in 2016 with my 2 children. We all love it here :)
A little bit about my background: my dad in Japan is an acupuncturist for many years and I grew up having a life size skeleton in the lounge with him talking about anatomy very often.
I really enjoy what I do. It’s rewarding, it’s challenging, and it’s fascinating. Human body and brain are fascinating! Learning about our bodies never ends and I will keep learning/up skilling.
Outside work I love being in NZ nature. I love bush walking, camping and going for a random drive :)
Now my kids are older, I have more time to myself - I started taking Japanese drum and African dance classes and I’m loving both!
I often tell myself ‘You Only Live Once’ to encourage myself to try new things :) but I also remember what I’ve been taught by my parents - try whatever you desire but always think of others that may be affected. I will keep challenging myself but will always be respectful of others :)
