Oasis Network Inc. We also offer transitional housing to single males and females who either have no mental illness or low to medium levels of mental illness.

We are a not for profit community mental health support service that provide Peer Support, Advocacy and Education to people who self-identify as having experience of mental distress and/or illness.

GROUPS RUNNING AT OASIS:

Craft Group Mondays 10-11:30am
Come and explore art and crafts in this fun group, we are currently working on calendar art to make individual calendars and a combined one for Oasis.

Reaching for the sky, grounded in the earth Mondays 1:30-3pm
A group for anyone who want to be supported in their goals and find ways to keep on track. Develop their tool kit to combat anxiety, self-doubt and depression with grounding techniques and art therapy exercises.

Oasis Women’s Group Wednesday 12.30 – 2.30pm
Oasis Wahine supporting each other while learning about self-care and wellbeing, enjoying skill based session’s e.g. sewing, jewelry making, cooking. The last Wednesday of the month is a fun day where we enjoy adventures together, food and lots of laughter.

Men’s Group Thursday 10-12noon
Oasis Tāne supporting each other, talking frankly about men’s issues and life and its challenges, and enjoy outings together.

Realities Group Friday 1-3pm
Discussion group looking at different ways of looking at realities, voices or other sensory differences, all welcome to come and explore topics together in a non-judgmental safe space.

We are seeking someone for our Client Support service, who has a Level 3 Certificate and studying towards a Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health and Wellbeing.

The role will involve:

Providing a person-centered, goal orientation and solution-focused outcome to achieve client goals
Speaking on behalf of clients when required
Ensuring clients have the correct information required to support their recovery
Providing advice to the rest of the team on peer issues
You will need to be a team player, have excellent people skills and be able to relate well to a range of diverse people from different ethnic backgrounds and cultures. You will also need to use your own experience to inspire and motivate others, contributing to team development within the organisation. This also includes for you to have the ability to make connections and interact with community organisations, DHB’s, Government Organisations, Addiction Providers and Mental Health Services.

Essential requirements:

Level 3 Certificate in Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Completing a Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health and Wellbeing by end of 2023.
A full, clean drivers’ license.
Computer literacy including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
Acceptable Police Vetting or Criminal History Check.
