Hi friends!
Long time no see 😉
So I’ve just had 5 weeks prepping in the office in wellington and just finished 2 weeks of filming- very long hard days in all weathers!!
I took my yoga mat with me- with the best intentions to practice in the evening, but so far….. not a single down dog 😭
Definitely feeling the need for a gentle Yin session so going to get my mat out and get on it now! ✨
Thought I would share one of my favourite Yin Spotify playlists with you in case you felt the need.

I must say that yin yoga really does help to train your brain and body to be resilient against discomfort- it’s helped me to be curious of any physical feelings of pain or discomfort- when I’m standing on top of a very windy hill in the rain, feeling the cold and having been on my feet for 10 hours, I actually use the principals of yin and almost explore actually what the feelings of discomfort or pain are and learn to just sit (or stand) with them.
I’ve also used breath work ALOT so far on the job, the psychological sigh (deep breath in, then another short breath in, long exhale out) for times of big stress, and just nice long inhales and longer exhales to generally calm the mind. I’ve made a conscious effort to relax the shoulders too, particularly when it’s cold, visualising warmth helps too!
I wonder if anyone of you have used yoga principals in everyday life? I hope so!
🫶🙏
