Terracotta 50% OFF
Thursday 4th & Friday 5th December (only), 9am–4pm
📍 Morris & James showroom

When it’s all said and done… this is what we have left: terracotta.

We’ve sifted through the remaining nooks and crannies of the factory as we pack up, and unfortunately, there are no more glazed pieces left.

But with this stash of terracotta, we’ve decided to hold a short and sweet sale before we ship out of the property completely.

We’re unable to list these items online, but we’ll do our best to share photos and cater to phone orders where possible.

All terracotta pieces will be half price.

And if plain terracotta isn’t quite your thing - you could paint it with house paint. While it’s not our area of expertise, there are plenty of tutorials online - many recommend sanding and sealing the pot to get the best result.

We’ll be here this Thursday and Friday - if you’re keen to have a look, come and see us.

Factory update: it’s now looking incredibly bare with all the kilns gone, and the old trolley tracks leading to nowhere is quite a sight! We're rolling with the punches.

Keep your eyes out for our announcements next week - we’ve been gathering a selection of pottery pieces that we're planning to release soon - stay posted...

Decommissioned kiln cars - the quiet workhorses of Morris & James. These wonderful old trolleys carried every pot, platter, and sculptural piece in and out of the kilns over the years.

Third time lucky for Miriam! 🎉

Miriam was absolutely determined to be our final over-the-counter customer, and after several attempts, she finally claimed the title! Though we must admit it was getting a little expensive for her as each 'last' visit turned into another purchase while everyone snapped up their final pieces before we closed our doors.

Google Maps is already on to it - we’ve officially been removed from the map.

As we wrap up this chapter, here are a few FAQs and what’s coming up next… 👇

🏭 Is the pottery still open?
No, the pottery is now officially closed. However, our communication lines remain open here on Facebook messenger. If you want to stay in touch with us, send us a DM!

Independent operators Café Nectar and Katya Maker remain onsite - they are independently owned and operated and remain open.

🛍️ I’m waiting on an outstanding order - what happens now?
If you have an order still to be collected or paid for, we will contact you directly to arrange payment and pickup options. Thanks for your patience!

🏺 Do you have any remaining stock available?
Yes - we do have a few leftover pieces. As we work through packing down the pottery, select items may be added to our website with nationwide shipping available. Any new listings will be announced here on Facebook and through our email newsletter. We’re unable to offer product holds or pre-purchases, so the best approach is to keep an eye on our updates. We’ll share any available items as soon as they go live.

🔧 Will you be selling capital items or display equipment?
Possibly. We’re currently working through what may be available. Please note that our team will have first choice on any pottery equipment or display items before anything is offered publicly.

📢 How can I stay updated?
We have a big job ahead packing down the pottery over the next few weeks. But as one door closes, another opens - or so they say. We’ll keep you updated right here on Facebook and through our email newsletter. Watch this space.

Folks - that's a wrap! We've officially closed our doors, for the final time. Thank you to all the messages and outreach of support, this community rocks. As we reflect today, our biggest joy is knowing that what was once a showroom brimming with colourful pottery is now spread far and wide in homes and gardens across New Zealand.

Why have so many people stayed with us through this journey?

While the rest of the world is going fast, we find the joy in going slow. We're that space in-between the busy, a place to pause, relax, feel joy, and reconnect with the good things in life.

It’s our hope that every time you look at your Morris & James piece, you’re reminded of this message.

We are the community that gets it. Stick around... let's see where the story goes next.
