Measles is highly contagious and can cause serious health problems like pneumonia and brain swelling. One in three people with measles will need hospital care. Children under five, those who are pregnant, and those with weakened immune systems are most at risk. Two doses of the MMR vaccine after 12 months of age offer strong protection.

What you need to know:
✅ Watch for symptoms: high fever, cough, sore red eyes, rash
✅ Stay home if unwell
✅ Call Healthline on 0800 611 116 for advice

During Mental Health Awareness Week, we are launching a new mini podcast series, Moments That Matter, presented by award-winning journalist and author Jehan Casinader.

The series shares stories from well-known New Zealanders as they reflect on the moments that shaped their mental health, and the tools they used to look after their wellbeing when life felt tough.

The first episode, featuring Stan Walker will launch during Mental Health Awareness Week, with the remaining five episodes being released fortnightly on YouTube and Spotify.
