Busy morning pressing, bottling, and labelling tinctures. Agrimony, Calendula, Hawthorn leaves and flowers from last Spring's harvest, Licorice root, Red clover from early summer's harvest, and Wild yam. Medicine-making takes time, but the creative process is so rewarding.

All set up at Health 2000 ✨Come in for a chat and see if herbal medicine is for you 🌿

Hey everyone, mark your calendars! πŸ“†
On Wednesday, 4 February, I will be available at Health 2000 to chat with anyone who would like to know more about herbal medicine and the services I offer.

Find out how herbal medicine can help you, learn about constitutions and the cycle of healing, and experience herbal pulse testing with a range of herbal tinctures made in my home dispensary.

After this initial event, the idea is to offer consultations once or twice a month at Health 2000 (Matamata), in addition to seeing clients in my home-based herbal clinic.

I look forward to seeing you there between 9 am and 4 pm! 🌿

The Red Clover is blooming here and today was the first harvest day for this beautiful flower. I'm so glad to see it bloom in the paddocks this year as last season, we didn't encounter any.

If you wish to harvest some yourself, just make sure the paddock hasn't been sprayed with chemicals. Our land is spray free here and yes, weeds are aplenty, but many weeds are herbs and most of them have a reason to be there, be it to aerate the soil with their long roots or contribute to biodiversity.

A productive but relaxing Sunday harvesting Chamomile flowers, drying them, and processing the already dried Hawthorn leaves and flowers. Spending time growing, harvesting, and processing the herbs that I will later tincture or use in tea blends for my patients feels really grounding. A lot of care goes into making these herbal medicines and I believe it adds to their potential as health allies. It's similar to a home-cooked meal tasting much better than a store-bought one, if you get what I mean. Love was put into it, and that makes a huge difference!

I hope you had a relaxing weekend 🌿

Hawthorn leaves and flowers going into the dehydrator for an hour to finish drying them off. This herb is one of the best allies for supporting the health of the heart and vascular system. In summer I will also be harvesting the Hawthorn berries.

It is so nice now being able to welcome clients in my home-based clinic and apothecary in rural Matamata. The place is very healing by itself! Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any question regarding the service I offer or if you'd like to book an appointment to start your healing journey with the help of our wonderful plant allies 🌱

I spent the last two weeks of August at home, unable to do much due to ill health. My mind had time to wander, and, in between two bouts of coughing, I asked myself what changes were necessary to implement once I got better. Amongst other things, it occurred to me that having the herbal clinic in town, away from my home apothecary, did not fully align with what I truly wanted. So, the clinic will no longer be located at 27 Arawa Street. From mid-October, I will be welcoming clients in my home-based clinic, which I am very excited about! Stay tuned as more details will follow. In the meantime, do not hesitate to call, email or message this page if you have any questions.

PS: "Matamata herbal clinic" will now operate under the name, Fiona Vandeputte -- Herbalist, but all contact details remain the same.
