Some great information to Top Up Together during mental health awareness week
The concept of Keep Learning refers to the act of exercising our mental faculties, akin to engaging in physical exercise. Engaging in novel learning experiences alongside friends or whānau can foster motivation, deepen understanding, and provide a sense of shared growth and discovery.
To incorporate Keep Learning into your daily life, consider the following suggestions:
* Enroll in a class or group, such as learning a musical instrument, participating in a book club, or acquiring new dance skills.
* Organize a lunch and learn session with your colleagues, featuring a guest speaker or a presentation by a colleague on a topic of interest.
* Collaborate with your whānau to tackle a new challenge.
* Engage in culinary experimentation with a novel recipe, refurbish forgotten furniture, or explore the benefits of acquiring a new language.
* Expand your knowledge of your hometown or local area by engaging with whānau and neighbors, consulting local history societies, pukapuka/books, or conducting an online rangahau/search.
* Engage in mentally stimulating activities, such as crosswords, sudoku, or riddles.
Evidence suggests that learning or attempting new experiences cultivates a sense of accomplishment, competence, and stimulates engagement with the world around us.
