Pohlen Foundation Trust The Trust helps provide Pohlen Hospital with funding to upgrade facilities and assist with replacemen We continually strive to strengthen these relationships.

The Trust was born out of a need to have extra funding available for Pohlen Hospital, over and above its Operational Budget, specifically to provide for the upgrade of facilities and assist with the replacement of medical equipment. Thus the aims of Pohlen Foundation Trust are:

• Providing financial assistance for new capital equipment, improving facilities, and amenities around the hospital as and when the need arises.
• Supporting the Hospital Trust Board’s mission to provide quality healthcare and wellness services for the wider Matamata community. Pohlen Foundation Trust is independent of the Pohlen Hospital Trust Board; however the two work closely together. All projects for which funds are raised are approved by the Hospital Board first. The Foundation trustees are all members of the local Matamata community. The Foundation Secretary is employed by The Hospital, and works out of the Hospital premises. The Trustees serving on The Pohlen Foundation Trust set manageable goals and work hard to achieve these. Funds raised by the Foundation are never used to support the Hospital operating budget. We are fortunate to be part of a wider community which offers a high level of support for, and participation in, events staged to raise funds for individual projects. The Foundation endeavours to be innovative and creative in the manner in which it chooses to do this. Funds raised come directly from

• Foundation events within our local community
• Philanthropic grants
• Donations
• Bequests
• Bank interest

The greater part of funds raised throughout the year in general come from Philanthropic Trusts; however our local events are very important and provide the basis for our community relationships. These include businesses, community service groups, and individuals. Pohlen hospital is held in high regard by our local community, and is nationally recognised for the range of services it provides to the wider community:

For the Hospital’s size the service and support it provides to our community is second to none. Here at the Foundation we do take ownership for ensuring the wider community has the best health care possible and keeping healthcare on our doorstep.

What an incredible day we had at the Pohlen Foundation Golf Day Fundraiser on Friday! ⛳️☀️

The Pohlen Foundation Trustees would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Golf Day Fundrasier held on Friday such a success.

A very special shout-out goes to Matamata Panelworks, owned by Malcolm and Nicky Sankey, for their support.

The weather was absolutely fantastic, and it was awesome to see so many teams out on the course getting behind the day. Thanks to everyone who entered a team, donated prizes, sponsored the event, and supported us in so many different ways.

A big thank you as well to all the local businesses, sponsors, helpers, and volunteers who gave their time and energy both behind the scenes and on the day. Events like this simply wouldn’t happen without you.

We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity and support shown by everyone involved, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year! 🙌

Shout-out to The Redoubt Bar & Eatery Matamata 🙌 huge thanks for the support and the hard work from a fantastic bunch of people who helped get bark onto our gardens!

Gardens are looking top notch👌

Also massive appreciation to Foundation trustee Tony Wright for organizing this and for supplying the bark!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

It has been a crazy few days with some wild weather around the country - I hope all out Pohlen followers are safe and have avoided any weather catastrophes.

We are very excited to say the Pohlen Foundation Golf Tournament supporting Pohlen Hospital supported by Matamata Panelworks has SOLD OUT, what a fabulous response from our wonderful community. I will be taking names on a waitlist for anyone who has missed out.

We have some fabulous auctions - live and silent on the day after the golf so come along and support with bidding on some of our amazing items for sale.

Happy 2026 everyone!

Entries are coming in fast for the Pohlen Foundation Golf Day so get in now so you don't miss out!!

We are thrilled to say that we are running a Golf Tournament again this year due to unprecedented demand!!

It is Friday 6th March at Matamata Golf Club, thanks to the support and generosity of Matamata Panelworks there is a chance to win a Shelby Mustang if you get a hole in 1 (conditions apply).

Entries are now open so get it in quick smart...... 🏌️🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️
