Our final Flow on Effect of the year is here, and we’re finishing with heart.

For December, we’re supporting Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC), a charity that stands beside Kiwis living with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood cancers. Their work is ongoing, deeply human, and mostly community-funded.

We’re also backing firefighter Billie East, who’s taking on the Sky Tower Challenge. 51 floors in full kit to raise awareness and funds for LBC. A reminder of the everyday bravery happening all around us.

And to you… thank you.
Because of this community, we’ve now donated $16,500 and supported 33 organisations since the Flow on Effect began.

The ripple continues. 🌿✨

Every November, we’re reminded how many men move through the world holding more than they let on.
It's the quiet pressure to “be fine.”

This month, our Flow On Effect is standing behind someone turning his pain into purpose: Corey Choat

Corey lost his sister, Sally, to su***de in 2019. In the years that followed, running became his way to heal and to speak up for the men who suffer quietly.

On November 21st, he’s taking on an incredible challenge:
6.8km, on the hour, every hour… for as long as he can keep moving.

We’ve donated to support Corey's Movember fundraiser, a small ripple we hope adds to the bigger wave of change he’s creating.

Most people assume supplements in NZ are tested before they reach the shelves.

That's not necessarily the case.

Under the Dietary Supplements Regulations 1985 (NZ), brands can sell products without proving what’s inside, no mandatory lab testing, no independent verification, no guarantee of purity or potency.

That means what’s printed on the label might not always reflect what’s in the bottle.
And in a world where more of us are turning to natural health products, that should matter.

Our Story

Having started the superfood powerhouse that is Vitality Organics back in 2015, Dave Wylie found that one product gathered more conversation than the rest. That product was the ‘maca mocha with shrooms’.

Made of espresso, raw cacao, gelatinized maca, chaga, cordyceps, reishi, lion’s mane and coconut buttermilk, it had the town of Mount Maunganui buzzing.

It gathered so much attention that it caught the eye of Government officials at the Ministry of Primary Industries, who then proceeded to threaten hefty fines for the use of ‘novel’ ingredients (true story).

‘Novel’ products are those that haven’t been used extensively here in New Zealand.

These ‘novel’ ingredients included cordyceps, lion’s mane, and an ashwaganda / blue lotus blend we were using in another drink.

We also ruffled a few MPI feathers when we were serving the H**p 'dog-bowl' - when h**p was only allowed for animal consumption. A delicious smoothie bowl full of coconut butter, banana, cacao, h**p seeds and h**p protein, and layered with an assortment of toppings, it was for dogs only. We thought we were hilarious.

It is a shame to make these adaptogenic, potent mushrooms and herbs that have been used for centuries unavailable to the general public in a ready-to-drink elixir.

Hence the desire to provide a make-it-yourself concoction.

Born was the idea for Flow State, and here we are now. Fine free.
