The Centre for Contemplative Research Aotearoa, a charitable trust, was founded in 2019.

It is establishing a contemplative research centre in Matiri Valley, near Murchison, to provide meditation instruction and undertake research.

Land rejuvination is an ongoing priority for the CCRA team. We are currently undertaking releasing work and putting fertilizer and weedmats in place to support the redwoods planted last year. Amazing work by the team 🙌

We never cease to wonder and appreciate that we get to call this land the home of CCRA 🙏🏻

Our efforts are made with the goals of building relationships and healing the land while also fundraising so we can build sustainable retreat cabins to house our future Olympians of the mind.

Lama Alan Wallace holds an undergraduate degree in physics and philosophy and a doctorate in religious studies 📚

As the founder of Centre of Contemplative Research (CCR), he has become an outspoken advocate for a revolution in the mind sciences, one that is completed by first-person contemplative methods of inquiry into the nature and potentials of the mind.

The ability to connect and understand our minds and consciousness give us insight into how we can heal ourselves, and the world around us.

The study of untapped potentials of consciousness, coupled with scientific research and philosophy, is why the New Zealand Centre for Contemplative Research was created.

Dedicated contemplatives will work alongside other subject matter experts in a variety of fields, including physics, neuroscience, psychology and phenomenology.

In order to pursue this mission we continue to drive the CCRA Inaugural Cabin Building Fund - Dollar-Matching Campaign. This project will allow us to continue to focus on our mission to Fathom the Mind and Heal the World. 🙌
