Farewell and Heartfelt Thanks

As we come to the close of another chapter, we take a moment to express our deepest appreciation, sincere thanks and best wishes to our Kaiwhakahaere Matua (General Manager), Robert Jenner aka "Boss", who concludes an incredible 13 years of dedicated service in this position. Your vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting legacy. Your contributions have played a key role in guiding our organisation’s growth and success and your impact will be felt for many years to come. We also thank your whānau Mem and the kids for sharing you with us, although you are still around!

We also bid a special farewell to our outgoing Board Members, Whaea Kat Nuku (Chairman) and Michelle Houia (Trustee). Your dedication, and insight have been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for your service and commitment over the decade.

We look forward to the future chapters of growth for our Hauora under the guidance of our new Kaiwhakahaere Matua, Kath Purcell, Kiri Rangiaho (Chairman) and our new board members, Weku Kereopa and Miriama Iti-White. Nau mai, whakatau mai ki waenga i a tātou te whānau o Te Ika Whenua Hauora!

Just want to say a big thank you to staff, volunteers & Piringa wellness service coming back to do some more mahi.

As you can see in the photos cutting up barrels to grow our Lilly plants, rhubarb, setting up a big hydroponic garden, weeding gardens, mowing lawns and other chores.

Too much everyone cannot express how much you have given your time to come down. 💯💥💢🙏

We also gave away alot of tomato 🍅 plants.

Our next working bee is next Monday.
Hope that everyone can come along & contribute to make small difference in our communities lives but also take away some of the ideas the maara has on display hopefully to guide our whanau through some of the barriers we face today.

We will have alot of kamokamo plants also to take home.

We have tomato 🍅 plants growing around the gardens.
If you wants some we have a working bee day at the community maara kai & rongoa gardens this coming monday at 9.30am

31/10/2025

Here is how the our Hydroponic Maara is doing.
We gave an update on the 17 October 2025 when the plants were small

On the 22 October 2025 we gave a progress report

Here is a progress report 01 November 2025

As you can see the lettuce leaves are ready to eat. To ensure you have lettuce available for the next 2 months take the outer leaves at the bottom don't need to remove the whole lettuce.
As you can see there is a variety of lettuce that you can make in a salad.

You are most welcome to come and sample the lettuce.

We have a working bee 🐝 Monday starting 9.30am.

I can talk more about the setup of the hydroponic also.
