This Saturday the 17th, we’re back on the mat for our 9:00 am yoga practice at .secret.garden.nz after a few weeks off.
We’re ready to keep starting our weekends with energy, clarity, and a sense of ease.

Starting Tuesday 10th February 2026 1-2pm Carly Phillips .aotearoa will be facilitating another 8 week block of Trauma Centre -Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) at .secret.garden.nz Napier alongside Kelly Forrest (psychotherapist).

This ACC funded yoga is available for those with an "accepted" mental injury, most commonly PTSD as a result of sexualised violence or physical injury.

The TCTSY methodology is based on central components of the Hatha style of yoga where participants engage in a series of physical forms and movements. Elements are modified to maximize experiences of empowerment and to cultivate a more positive relationship to one's body.

Unlike non TCTSY yoga classes, TCTSY does not use physical hands-on adjustments to influence a participant's physical form. Rather, TCTSY presents opportunities for participants to be in charge of themselves based on a felt sense of their own body.

All shapes are invitational - this non-coercive approach dismantles some of the power dynamics between facilitator and participant with the hope of making the space safe enough for participants to explore their internal selves (interoception).
