This is often the difference between prescription vitamin A and a regulated form such as retinyl palmitate.

Not every skin concern needs a bazooka.

If your skin only behaves while you’re using something strong… what happens when you stop?

Prescription creams can absolutely have a place in skin treatment. But we often see is strong actives introduced before the skin is properly regulated.

When the barrier is already compromised, accelerating turnover or suppressing inflammation can lead to sensitivity, pigmentation, and long-term dependency.

Let’s prioritise restoring barrier integrity and balanced cell function before introducing stronger actives.

It’s not the mite. It’s the immune response.

In some presentations of rosacea, an increased density of Demodex can be observed.

Demodex is a naturally occurring skin mite present on most adult skin part of our skins ecosystem.

Its presence is not the problem.

The issue is how the skin responds.

When barrier integrity is impaired and inflammation remains active, the immune response can become heightened.

This can contribute to persistent redness, bumps, and ongoing flare cycles.
