Top Tip Tuesday!
As an Intimacy and Wellness Consultant, this is SUCH an important conversation to normalise — especially for men in their 30s, 40s and 50s balancing careers, pressure and family life.
🧬 What Is “Low T”?
Low T refers to lower-than-normal levels of testosterone, the primary male s*x hormone responsible for:
Libido (s*x drive)
Energy levels
Muscle mass
Mood regulation
Confidence
Erectile function
Mental clarity
Testosterone naturally declines with age, but modern lifestyle stressors can accelerate that drop.
⚠️ Signs of Low Testosterone?
Men often don’t connect these symptoms to hormones:
Decreased s*x drive
Difficulty maintaining erections
Fatigue (even after rest)
Increased belly fat
Brain fog
Irritability or low mood
Reduced motivation
Loss of muscle mass
And here’s the big one…
It doesn’t just affect him.
It affects relationships, connection and intimacy too.
❤️ The Intimacy Impact?
Low T can create:
Reduced desire, which partners may misinterpret as rejection
Performance anxiety
Avoidance of physical touch
Emotional withdrawal
Confidence struggles
This often turns into silence… which turns into distance.
And distance is what damages relationships — not hormones.
🧠 What Contributes to Low T?
Modern corporate + busy life plays a huge role:
Chronic stress
Poor sleep
Alcohol overuse
Lack of strength training
Processed food
Excess body fat
Certain medications
Men working high-pressure jobs are especially vulnerable.
🔥 What Can Help?
Before jumping straight to medication, lifestyle foundations matter:
✔️ Resistance training (3–4x weekly)
✔️ 7–8 hours quality sleep
✔️ Reduce alcohol
✔️ Manage stress (nervous system regulation)
✔️ Protein-rich diet
✔️ Blood testing with a GP if symptoms persist
Some men benefit from TRT (testosterone replacement therapy), but it should always be medically supervised.
💬 Let’s Normalise This Conversation.
Low T is not weakness.
It’s not failure.
It’s not “getting old and that’s it.”
It’s biology + lifestyle — and it’s manageable.
When men feel supported instead of shamed, everything changes.
