I’m Kate – the face behind “Well and Nourished”

A qualified Holistic Nutritionist, who uses Herbal Medicine and Naturopathy. I see one-on-one clients in clinic at The Wellness Project,New Plymouth, and also do mobile consultations at clients homes. My holistic approach to treating and repairing heath concerns is to address the root cause/causes, and not just the symptoms, which inevitably come back. To do this I use a variety of elements to support and nourish the body. These include nutrition, supplements, herbs, mindfulness and stress reduction, and a range of functional testing – where appropriate – to get a deeper understanding of the problems at hand. My passion is to educate and empower people to be their own health advocate.I’m here to help you reach the very best level of health you can!

Berry merry breakfast 🍓🫐

1 cup (125 g) frozen mixed berries
1 orange, zest finely grated & 1/ 3 cup (80 ml) juice
1 1/ 2 tablespoon almond butter
1 teaspoon “The beauty chef glow Inner Beauty Powder”
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Topping

Fresh raspberries
Fresh strawberries
Strawberry flowers & leaves

Cacao Clusters

2 tablespoons buckwheat groats
2 tablespoons flaked coconut
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped hazelnuts
2 teaspoons cacao powder
1 teaspoon cacao nibs
1 teaspoon black sesame seeds
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1/ 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Method

Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
To prepare the cacao clusters, place all of the ingredients together in a medium bowl and toss to combine. Spread out onto a baking tray, clumping together to form clusters. Bake, stirring frequently for 10 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
To prepare the smoothie bowl, place all of the ingredients in a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.
Pour smoothie into a shallow bowl. Top with cacao clusters & fresh berries. Yum!

I really like these beetroot “noddles” ( they’re more like beetroot sticks) for quick easy snacks for the kids (&me!). Add some hummus and 👌yum! OR add the to stirfry for a quick dinner (who hates peeling beetroot and slicing it up! 🤣 )

Making edible Santa hats wot the kids. These were so much fun! The kids loved it, so simple healthy and delicious. Frozen strawberries 🍓 dipped in the collective dairy free coconut yoghurt which has the lowest sugar out there. We put our tree up too! Christmas is coming!☺️🎄

I have a million things to say about this but I will stick to 2 comments. I feel the school system in general is broken and so are many parts of the medical system. I have SO many parents tell me "the teacher said my child has ADHD and needs to be medicated". Or "my child got an ADHD diagnosis in a 20 min consultation".
HUGE alarm bells for me.

This is not a criticism of teachers or medical professionals, its the SYSTEM.

Tried out this recipe this weekend. Almond crackers. (I added some sunflower seeds,chia and flaxseeds to mine) Gluten free, dairy free. Simple and yummy! The nutritional yeast adds B vitamins, selenium, and other goodness to them as well as a non-dairy cheesy flavour.
