They say this is the silly season that can bring out both the best and worst in some… and in two days that seems to have been proven here at Eagars. Yesterday, arrived to discover someone had stolen one of our new trees. Then today, a random act of kindness with lovely flowers delivered by a stranger. Thank you to whoever gave us the flowers!

I thoroughly enjoyed this recent commission I did for Eagers funeral home - the crossing. It’s a fusion of my WOF style art with messages about grief, how a funeral director helps during the experience and of course some good old fashioned humour.

We are settling in to our new funeral home after a wonderful official opening last month. It's an amazing space and we're confident it will serve grieving families very well for generations. In addition to unveiling our new building, we also unveiled a new art piece by Paul Rangiwahia called "The Crossing".

Casey Martin and I were so chuffed to officially open our new funeral home yesterday. Bryan Vickery Media Taranaki thank you for taking the time to put this clip together! And a massive thank you to all involved in the project. We will look to have some open days in the next few months for anyone interested in having a look through our new space.

A progress update on our new Funeral Home is well overdue! Since pouring the floor prior to Christmas the building has moved at pace and we are not far from being weathertight - just in time for winter. We hope to be in by October which really isn't all that far away. Many people who've attended funerals at our chapel have commented on the new building and we can't wait to show it off to everyone😀

After three long years, it’s finally here! In a first for Eagars, we’ve taken delivery of a brand new hearse. And it’s gorgeous. A Mecerdes Benz E200 that’s been converted by Pilato in Italy into this elegant vehicle to serve our families.

Exciting News!

The past couple of years has seen us develop a 'good problem'. With more families choosing to use Eagars to assist with farewelling their loved ones, our funeral home has become too small. So, we're building a new one! The project will commence at the end of October 2024 and we hope to open the new home by August 2025. Scott at Jackson Architects Ltd has done a fabulous job in designing a building to complement our fabulous Te Henui Chapel and we're sure the property will look amazing once Livingstone Building NZ complete the project.

Thank you to all the families who've chosen Eagars Funerals; and to the families we serve in the coming year, we thank you in advance for being a little flexible when working with us.

We're super excited with this next stage for Eagars Funerals and we'll share the progress with you as these pictures become a reality😀.

These past few years have seen us all make some sacrifices but these pale against the young men and women who are sent to war. Lest we forget.
