Hey everyone, I have 25% off my Agreements until 30 June 2023🐓

Being the busiest time right now for buying and selling horses, please do not just hope the deal will always go wellšŸ™. It's a sad fact but the horse world is full of people feeling ripped off and lied to, whether you are a buyer or a seller.

An agreement gives protections, just like buying a car or a house. If critical statements have been made, here's the place to put them on record. If you're selling and want to be certain on your liabillty for the horse's soundness and behaviour, then my Agreement says this is an 'as is where is' sale, to the extent the law allows.šŸ‘©ā€šŸŽ“

I sold a horse last year and was very relieved I had an Agreement signed. It took weeks and weeks for the horse transport company to pick him up and I was very reassured the purchaser couldn't back out of the deal. What typically happens when things take time, is a local rider says they have the perfect horse so why don't you just buy their one and forget the drawn out situation you are involved in? And that's a hassle the seller doesn't need.

But . . . I know the purchaser was relieved we had signed a really clear legal agreement because she had given me a 50% deposit and no doubt was wondering if her money was safe!! šŸ”‘All up, we both knew where we stood.

A bespoke agreement from your usual lawyer is costly because 99% of lawyers don't understand the tricky things that are absolutely unique to horses - injury risks between sale and pickup, transport delay problems, complicated ownership arrangements and on it goes (no offense to my legal colleagues). A non-horsey lawyer needs to draft it from scratch and that takes time and therefore cost.

You could pick up something on the internet but I have searched and they aren't good or are complicated and hard to understand.

Being an equestrian and a lawyer, I know the territory, but I am straight-up as well as always pushed for time. Therefore I designed these Agreements to be easy to understand with all the key details at the beginning, easy to find later if you've forgotten the horse's age or breeding or whatever thing it was.

The Simple Agreement, currently on sale, for seller or purchaser, is just over $160 which is less than shoeing or a cheap winter rug. It's a bargain actually, don't you think? I do because I know what it has taken to create these little gems and they are always being updated to stay abreast of our rapidly changing world.

There's only a few weeks of sale left to 30 June 2023 so whether you are buying or selling, pick up an Agreement and be ready to go. When it all happens in a great rush of excitement, you will be ready to document it properly. And that is important.

Scan the QR code in the green business card image and it should take you right there. If that doesn't work, go to www.horseagreements.co.nz or www.horsecontracts.co.nz and select the agreement that's right for you. Or email me on equine@fairplay.co.nz and I can help you through it. šŸ˜ŠšŸ¦„šŸ˜ŠšŸ¦„

Go well.

Hey everyone, I have 25% off my Agreements until 30 June 2023!
Right now is the busiest time for horses and ponies being bought and sold. So, I thought I would make it even easier for you to have quality legal protection around your sale or purchase.

When I sold a horse last year, I felt the same relief that my customers experience. It took weeks and weeks for the horse transport company to pick him up and I was very reassured the purchaser couldn't back out of the deal and perhaps decide she didn't want him ( you know how it is - someone in the area says they have the perfect horse for you so why don't you just buy their one? ...)

But . . . I am sure the purchaser was also relieved we had signed a sound legal agreement because she had given me a 50% deposit and no doubt was beginning to wonder if her money was safe!! All up, I know we both felt confident about where we stood.

To go to a lawyer for a bespoke horse agreement is expensive because 99% of lawyers would not understand all the tricky things that are absolutely unique to horses - injury risks between sale and pickup, transport problems, complicated ownership arrangements and on it goes (I hope I haven't offended any of my legal colleagues saying that :)).

The reality is a non-horsey lawyer would need to draft it from scratch and that takes time. You could pick up something on the net but I haven't seen a great one yet and there are actually some awful agreements out there.

Because I am an equestrian and a lawyer, I know the territory you are in but I am also a straight-up person, always pushed for time. That's why I've designed these agreements so they are easy to use and understand with all the key details at the beginning, easy to find.

With the sale price, the Simple Agreement for seller or purchaser, is just over $160 so that's not even the cost of shoeing or a cheap winter rug. It's a bargain actually, don't you think? I do because I know what it has taken to create these little gems and they are always being updated to stay abreast of our rapidly changing world.

There's 7 weeks of sale left to 30 June so whether you are buying or selling, pick up an Agreement and be ready to go when it all happens in a great rush of excitement, as I know it does.

Scan the QR code in the green business card image and it should take you right there. If that doesn't work for you, go to www.horseagreements.co.nz or www.horsecontracts.co.nz and select the agreement that's right for you. Thanks for your time and may it all go well.

Wow look at this! A future looking council initiative for equestrians and mountain bikers. Hmmm its got me thinking about what we could do in Taranaki and possibly even on the existing equestrian and biking trails …

Am going strong, but need to go better! Help needed from an equestrian marketer in Taranaki.

Am going strong, but need to go better! Help needed from an equestrian marketer in Taranaki.

I’m excited to have taken FairPlay Equine this far but now I need marketing help. Is there a Taranaki equestrian out there, experienced or qualified in marketing, to help promote FairPlay Equine’s horse agreements to Aotearoa NZ?
My ideal person would:
o create social media posts from my articles and blogs
o monitor the Analytics
o use Mailchimp, Facebook Ads Manager, Instagram, and Google My Business to promote sales
o publish (not create) blogs on the FairPlay Equine website
o update and monitor SEO (Weebly website editing) to improve Google search rankings
o know how to do polls and surveys
o co-design photographs and videos to suit the marketing vision
Once the marketing plan is sorted, I am picturing this being contracted at around 6 hours a month, maybe more? We can discuss that. We may need to employ other specialists for some of the above – I know it’s hard to find an ā€˜all-rounder’!
I’m really pleased to have grown this unique and dedicated equine law service which helps horse-people avoid the nasty disputes that seem to plague our sport. Now it needs to go to the next level.
If you are a local, marketing-savvy, horse-rider, I would love to meet you. Please email megan@fairplay.co.nz with a little bit about yourself, what you can do, and your phone number.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is 2.5 times more common than autism yet gets very little funding or recognition in Aotearoa NZ.
I have a very personal interest in this issue and want you to understand that so so many kids in our school system 'causing trouble' and 'so-called criminals' have PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE caused by FASD.
That means they can do ALMOST NOTHING about the way they react to stress, provocation and suggestion. They do stupid things but 'punishment' has no long term effect. It's a waste of time and money.
They need SUPPORT. Considered caring insightful interaction which over time can create helpful habits which means they avoid the hellhole's that so many of their lives become.
When people chant 'they need to go to jail', the 'ram raiders' need to be locked up, just consider there's every likelihood those people have FASD. Prison is not a useful outcome.
Try and suggest that funding for this brain injury is what is needed in the short and long term.

High Quality Horse Agreements

Helping you secure a happy horse partnership.

Busy equestrians need know what to get nailed and what to avoid before finalising their horse arrangements. With my simple on-line interview process, you are prompted to ask all the right questions and helped to broach all the awkward topics. Plus you get heaps of awesome tips and tricks in my Freebie guides on www.horseagreements.co.nz.

I find equestrians generally haven’t worked through key issues when buying, selling, trialling, leasing, grazing, competing, and schooling their horses. Maybe they feel unsure, or silly, or maybe they just don’t know what to sort out in advance. My process helps get these things discussed and agreed up front.

The result is a deal that means you know exactly what you are agreeing to and helps to cover all the things that could go wrong.
