Paul Norton Fitness

Paul Norton Fitness . With over 5000 hour's of 1-1 coaching i have a lot of experience in the fitness field. I don't claim to know everything and we are always learning.

When we start any fitness goal it is always that starting point that we struggle with. My aim is to make the fitness industry simple and educate people as best i can. Fitness should be viewed as a fun hobbies that shouldn't involve giving up the good treats in life, but so many people fear fitness and think that making change involves 8 hours a day in the gym and eating chicken and lettuce for life, WELL ITS NOT. You can lose weight by eating chocolate everyday,(don't very healthy) but it about small changes over a longer period. We need to learn the basics and evolve and improve along the way. I have created a online platform to share information to my clients but also help as many people as i can. Everyone has a different way of doing things but what has worked for me and the clients i have trained is accountability and having the basics set right from the start.

This is something that’s not spoken about enough

The harsh reality, life isn’t as glamorous as it seems

On social media we see “ the perfect bodies “

We see the “ perfect lives “

Here’s the reality…..

I’ve been six pack lean before

Its a lifestyle

A lifestyle that will have you watching every bit of food you eat

And training hard 6 times a weeks

I’ve just eating 2 Kit Kats

This morning I had some ice cream

I only trained 3 times this week

I don’t have a six pack

I’m not super lean

And I’m carrying a little bit fluff you could say

And guess what

I’m happy

I’ve lost over 40kg in my own journey

And I’d consider myself in good shape now

Good enough to give me the confidence to take my top off

Something I didn’t have when I was at my heaviest

Being super lean isn’t what health and fitness is about

Restricting yourself isn’t what health and fitness is about

If you want to be lean

There’s nothing wrong with that

But, to live that lifestyle, you are putting yourself through a lot of restriction

It’s not a 8 week quick fix

It’s a whole new lifestyle

I train for performance, not to look good

I eat to fuel my body and to feel good

I eat 80% of wholesome foods

And the other 20% on the not so wholesome stuff

And I enjoy my almond croissants without guilt

There’s more to life than have the smallest waist

There’s more to life then restricting your food

It’s a lesson I’ve learnt

Yes, to lose weight you will need to make better choices

But rather than try and change your while life in 8 weeks

Look to look at the longer approach

The approach that has your improving your lifestyle and seeing results at a more sustainable approach

I’m 5 years into my own journey

You’re looking for a better, happier, healthier lifestyle with sustainable results

Not some 8 week quick fix shred plan

Always think about the long term approach

And not the quick fix…

Ps - I’ve just finished my FREE high protein list..

I’ve been using this exact blueprint and lose weight while working 15+ hour days on the farm

Comment the word “ LIST “ and I’ll get you across a copy

I wasn’t too sure about posting this…

The last few week have been noting short of a shi # show…

Moving back to my family home, followed my dramas which I had to get the police involved, then I had to move out of my family home to a new place…

My fitness dropped and I was struggling to do any sort of cardio…

Picked up an injury so couldn’t train as hard…..

And then add in scrolling and comparing myself to others, it felt like I was going backwards….

It wasn’t until my coach told me to look back at where I came from….

Looking back at the Paul who was nearly 40kg heavier, wearing XXL shirts, and would be out of breath walking up the stairs…

That used to be me 🤯

It’s easy look at others and tell yourself how terrible you’re doing because you don’t look like them…

Everyone has their own story, and the most important thing is where YOU started and how far you’ve come rather than not were you think you should be 🙌

Rome wasn’t built in a day

Honestly I couldn’t be prouder of the work my client Jules has been putting in

This wasn’t a quick fix or any kind of shred plan

When we started working together improving confidence was the main goal and everything else followed

We all want to lose weight but when look past that and focus on improving things like your confidence, motivation and self worth then the rest will follow

Jules was living in Austrailia and working a busy full time job but still found room to make the small changes

We started off my doing the simple things such as walking and stretching and worked on her nutrition

Not only has her body composition changed but her strength and learning how to lift weights had been the most impressive

It wasn’t easy and there’s been plenty of bad days but it’s all part of it

Learning about her cycle was the biggest learning for her and although there’s only 4 kg in the difference between the two photo

It’s a prime example again of why you never bench mark results off the scales

I’m excited for what’s ahead for her and setting out the next goals for her

By the way

I’m looking for 3 more people for my program

If you’re ready to work on your health and fitness and get results and finish the year off good

Message me the word “ RESULTS “ and I’ll get you across the details

1st November is always a big day for me…

Reason is my mum would have turned 59 if she was still with us.

Reason I love new places and experiencing new things is because I know she would have loved to if she had the chance.

Before she passed away she was planning a trip to America to her sister, but never got the chance.

I never planned on becoming a personal trainer and I didn’t plan to then become an online coach or go back to collage and I didn’t plan to be where I am in my life right now.

I’ve got amazing clients and friends all over the world.

The ENGINE…

The WHY

Behind Paul Norton Fitness is this woman right there ❤️

I actually just got goosebumps there

My mam struggled with her weight loss..

She tried all the bullsh*te fad diets,

She tried all the challenges,

She tried all the local trainers,

I remember she would be so good during the week…

Clean food and getting her steps up..

Come Friday when she went to the local hall

And jumped on the scales in front of a bunch of people AND if her weight didnt drop she would get deduced points,

Like a hamster on a training wheel..

I would watch my mum crumble and fall to pieces

Coming home feeling like she had failed

Her confidence, motivation and self-worth all dropped

And alcohol and comfort eating was her escape…

But these people never told her about her Menstrual Cylce or Peri Menopause or even asked if she had PCOS…

If only she had someone in her corner, someone like me who would of helped her improve her whole life and as a result weight loss and fat loss would come.

Maybe she would be still here, or at least had an amazing weight loss journey.

This is what lights a fire in my arse,

This is why I show up every single day,

This is why my clients are more then clients,

They’re best friends.

If I can help just one person not go through what my mum went through,

Then I’ve left the fitness world in a better place then when I entered it.

As long as Paul Norton Fitness is alive, my mums legacy lives on ❤️

Adios

Paul

It’s been over 2 years since I took on the biggest challenge of my life

The challenge to climb the biggest mountain in the world as a tribute to my grandfather who had only a few weeks left to live at the time

He was going through the biggest challenge of his life, and for me, I wanted to push myself physically but also mentally

I decided to climb topless while carrying a 14kg backpack, the goal was to get as far as I could while listening to my body

Base camp sits at 5400 metre, I made it past 6000 metres, with temperatures hitting -17 at times

I learnt a lot about myself while up on that mountain but also about life

I learnt that our biggest asset we’ll own, is our mind and body

My grandfather passed away in February, and my dad 6 months after….

No amount of money nor the car you drive will ever substitute a healthy mind and body

In school we’re told this blueprint “ work, pay taxes, get a mortgage, get married “

Yet we’re not taught the fundamentals about basic life skills

The importance of exercise, eating nutrient dense foods, prioritising sleep and rest….

We’re in era that working 15 hours a day to pay a boat load of tax is normal, while having no time cook food so we end up eating junk food and takeaways

While exercising on a regular basis and eating nutrient dense foods, is deemed as “ obsessive and arrogant “

I’ve often had people say this about me saying “ who does he think he is!!!! He thinks he’s so great, showing off “

It’s nuts…….

I’m not saying don’t work hard in your job, I’m saying your health has to come first, without a healthy body and mind, whats the point??

Making time to look after yourself, will give your far greater returns down the line, it might even give you 10 years of extra life, something my mum and dad needed.

There’ll never be a good time to start, you’ll never have time, it’s alway going to be difficult.

It’s like everything, you have to make it work….

If that means getting up at 5am to do a workout in your living room, so be it….

It that’s getting up at 5am to make food for the day, so be it

Remember in order to change, something has to change

Paul ❤️❤️

Having lost both my parents and lost over 35kg myself, this is still a very taboo topic…

I’m not going to tell you to only eat chicken and broccoli, but I am going to say eat chicken and broccoli…

It’s sad that we are living in an age where if you eat the likes of chicken, vegetables, fruit, and use less oils and say no to the processed foods…

You get labelled “ obsessive “ or you must be on a “ diet “

Yet, if you ate nothing only pizza and junk food, no one would bat an eye lid 🙄

I love ice cream, I love some sour jellies…

But I’m also aware that these are a treat, and not a daily either but a treat, now and again…

It’s deemed as “ boring “ to eat whole foods…

“ If you’re not grabbing an almond croissant every time you pass a cafe, you’re not living “

I also love me a good croissant but there needs to be an element of awareness and understanding with the food we’re eating….

The quality of the food is so important and more important than the calories…..

Calories matter of course BUT food quality is more important…

If we can all go back to the basics and focus on food quality and understand the basics again…

You will reap the benefits..

Have the cake but let it be an occasional thing and not a daily thing

Guess what....

I used to be a little overweight....

I used to have no confidence and I used to hate my own body....

And it’s taken me 3 years to lose 31 kg...

And I wouldn’t change any of it because it’s given me the drive to help others who’re doing through the exact same as I did.

I still don’t have a six pack..

Or a shaved shaved chest..

And I love ice cream way too much...

See comments like this dont bother me....

But what does bother me is this comment came from another coach yet again...

When I look on his page it’s full of topless photos with himself putting back oil all over their chest....

The sad part is people will actually fall for this bullsh*te and buy their “ Magic shred plan “

I’ve no issues with that but when someone comes onto my page to try shame me, it’s not ok...

The reason the fitness industry is in such a bad place and the reason why more and more people are struggling with their body image, is because of people like this...

Someone who is in any good shape at all starts a Instagram page, takes a few selfies with baby oil on his chest and shaves his arse...

And calls himself a coach....

There’s so many great coaches out there but there’s also so many morons at the same time..

Fitness is about being the best version of yourself...

It’s about starting somewhere and trying to do your best each day and improving by just 1%

Heath and fitness is about looking in the mirror and feeling confident, to be able to have s*x with the lights and to walking up everyday excited for the day...

It’s not about having a six pack or being ripped as hell...

It’s not about worry about always being ripped all year around...

The reason I love helping people is because I know exactly how it feels

I’ve also seen my mum struggle so I’ve experienced it from both ends.

Fall in love with the process and don’t have any expectations or a timeframe and you’ll always stay winning.

Ps - I’ve just finished my FREE high protein list..

I’ve been using this exact blueprint and lose weight while working 15+ hour days on the farm

This is something I’ve not being very open about

2 years ago , I went through the biggest struggle of my life

Mentally and physically

This isn’t a sympathy post, it’s a post to show you that no matter how great we think someone’s life is

It’s not all as glamours as it seems

I’ve had people message me, telling me how great my life looks

“ oh look at you, enjoying the sun “

“ It’s ok for you, you are fit “

“ I wish I had your life “

I can tell you this, you do not want my life

What you see on social media, is only a glimpse into peoples lives

And, my life is far from perfect, and if I could, I’d change it in the morning

I’d give anything to have both my parents back, anything

No matter what you see on social media, there’s always a story behind it, and that story isn’t always as glamorous as it seems

Focus on what you have right now

Not what you don’t have

When Susan first reached out, she was fed up

She’d done the slimming clubs

She’d counted every calorie

She’d lost weight before — more than once — but it always crept back on

Every time she tried again, it got harder

Her hormones were all over the place

Her energy was low, sleep was poor, and no matter how “good” she was being, her body just wouldn’t respond anymore

She told me she didn’t feel like herself

The confidence was gone

Clothes didn’t fit right

And she was tired of constantly being on or off a diet — never finding that middle ground

When we started working together, I told her straight:
We’re not doing another quick fix

This time, it had to be about balance

So we focused on:

Getting her nutrition right for her hormones

Building structure she could actually stick to

Dropping the guilt around food and learning what her body needs

No restrictions

No points systems

No “good” or “bad” foods

At first, progress was slow — but that’s the point

Because this time, it wasn’t temporary

Week by week, her energy improved

Her sleep got better

The cravings eased

And for the first time in years, she felt calm and in control around food

The woman on the right isn’t just smaller — she’s stronger, happier, and finally free from the all-or-nothing mindset that kept her stuck for years

Sharon didn’t just lose weight

She broke the cycle

And now she finally feels like herself again

Something I wish my mum understood better…

I work and have worked with a lot of Women for over 6 years now and something that’s not spoken about enough is the menstrual cycle

Its important to understand your cycle because no matter what you’ll read, yours is yours may be different.

As a guideline and to keep it simple, your cycle has 2 main phases which are the Follicular phase and the Luteal phase.

The Follicular phase is generally when you would diet and train and hardest.

The Luteal phase is generally when you would look at increasing your food and listening to your body and doing less stressful exercises…

But every single person is going to be completely different and only you can know how your body reacts.

Tracking your cycle is the best weapon you can own, and your cycle is like your report card and the more you can understand it and how you’re feeling each week ,it will benefit you in so many ways.

They week before your cycle is due, you may experience and PMS.

But your twin sister may not experience any PMS.

It’s important to be able to understand the basics on how your cycle works and then become your very own scientist to track and understand how yours works.

Especially with weight fluctuations..

The better you can understand your cycle, the better you can train and diet accordingly and this will help you with any fat loss or weight loss goals

I still remember my mum going at the local hall for her weekly weigh in

She’d look down, see the number go up… and her whole mood would change

Didn’t matter if she’d eaten better, walked more, or actually felt good that week if the scales were higher, she thought she’d failed

No one ever told her that women’s weight fluctuates every single week

That hormones, water, digestion — even the time of month all cause the number to shift.
It wasn’t fat gain

It was just her body doing what it’s meant to do

But because she didn’t understand that,
she’d go home deflated, reach for crisps and wine,
and start the whole cycle again the next week

That’s why I’m so passionate about teaching women the truth, the truth I wish mammy had known

Because the scale isn’t the enemy, misunderstanding it is

You’re worth more than a number on the scales

When you know what’s actually happening,
you stop letting a few numbers control how you feel about yourself

By the way, I’ve updated my FREE “ Understanding your cycle “ ebook

Comment CYCLE below and I’ll send a FREE copy
that explains exactly why your weight changes each week and how to work with your body, not against it.

I watched my mum walk into the slimming club every week

Same hall

Same faces

Same scales

She’d smile going in, but I could always tell what that number did to her when she walked out

If it went down, she’d feel on top of the world

If it went up — even half a pound — she’d be crushed

She’d been “good” all week

She’d followed the plan, eaten clean, done everything right

And still… the scales went the wrong way

What she didn’t know — and what no one ever explained to her was that her weight didn’t go up because she’d failed

It went up because her body was doing exactly what it’s supposed to

Each month, during her cycle, her hormones shifted

Progesterone rose

Her body held more water

Digestion slowed

Cravings kicked in

And the scales reflected it

It wasn’t fat gain — just normal biology

But she didn’t know that

No one told her

So every time her period was due, the scales would go up, and she’d spiral

Wine, crisps, guilt, and starting again on Monday

That’s the part that broke me

She wasn’t lazy or weak — she was doing her best with bad information

And it destroyed her confidence

After she passed away, I realised she wasn’t alone

So many women are still trapped in that same cycle —
blaming themselves when it’s never been their fault

Your weight can shift 1–3kg in a week purely from water and hormones

It doesn’t mean you’re going backwards

It just means you’re human

Now, I teach women to understand their bodies instead of fighting them

To work with their cycle, not against it

To stop letting a number decide their mood

Because if my mum had known all this, she’d had the right support and the right information..

I truly believe things would’ve been different

That’s why I do what I do now

Every post, every program, every conversation is about helping women never feel like she did

The scales can show weight but they’ll never show progress, strength, or self-worth

And when you learn to work with your body, not punish it,
everything changes

Hope this was helpful ❤️
