New Zealand and Australia have the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. 3,100 invasive melanomas are diagnosed on average each year in NZ. That’s over 8 people a day.*
Most skin cancers can be prevented by reducing exposure to UV radiation by wearing sunscreen, skin protective clothing, seeking shade, wide brimmed hat, sunglasses - & planning your day outside when UV levels are at their lowest.
If you have noticed changes to your skin, or a spot or simply have never had a full body skin check, reach out to a dermatologist for an examination.
Early detection of melanoma allows for effective treatment and significantly improves outcomes.
