It's our BIRTHDAY!
1 year ago, we pulled up to West End Ohope with our new sauna.
We cranked it up, opened the bookings and hoped people would come.
Now, here we are a year in and we are so happy with our decision to offer The Sauna Project Ohope!
It has been an incredible experience and we have met (and cooked) the most amazing people, made friends, shared laughter, heard stories, watched strangers connect, operated in thunderstorms and howling winds, witnessed the ocean and sky changing form constantly, worked with local legends and have become a small part of the magical West End.
We were lucky enough to experience the beauty and healing waters of Braemar Springs for a while and now are regularly in the wonderful, wairua filled waters of Tarawera River in picturesque Karwerau.
It's been a ride and we've loved it.
So THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has been through the hotbox, supported us, said kind words, helped when they could and has accepted us into the community.
Thanks to and for their smiles and support from day one.
Thank you to Mike and Imke for running the sauna for us when needed, giving us breathing space as we both have other work and holidays are needed.
It's hard to express through here, how much the support means...So Thank You!
We'll be there this evening as usual and on Sunday we are offering $15 saunas, some free drinks and Maureen might even bake a cake!
So please accept this as an invitation to come celebrate with us and even if you don't sauna this Sunday, but have come to us before, feel free to swing by to say hello, grab a drink and eat cake.
