Mat Pilates is gentle in setup, but generous in what it gives back.
Mat Pilates can be as simple as you doing Pilates on your mat.

So, mostly it’s you vs you.
Sometimes… it’s you learning how to use your breath as resistance.
Sometimes… it’s you finding muscles you didn’t know you had.
Sometimes… it’s you creating magic through small moves with impressive engagement and control.

I think these classes have a way of giving back to you in ways you don’t expect:
strength when you needed grounding,
space when you needed calm,
and a reminder that you’re capable of more than you think.

We’re in our last few weeks of classes.… and yes, it suddenly feels like everything is happening at once 😅
If your body needs a reset (or a stretch, or some strength), come get it while we’re still rolling.

But please, be kind to yourself. Feel the joy in your movements & soak in the goodness of how your movement makes you feel.

The studio felt alive this week.
So did our hips, legs, glutes, am I right?! 😅

I saw people try new shapes, return to familiar ones with more trust, and choose the versions that truly supported their bodies. We moved, balanced, held, breathed.

Thank you for the way you show up, the energy you bring, and the way you help grow this space with me — one class at a time.

“Listen to your body.”
Okay… but what does that mean?

It means noticing the moment you’re pushing too hard.
It means recognising when you’re holding back.
It’s not about doing less or more.
It’s about choosing what’s true for you today and in that moment.
It means choosing a version of the pose you can breathe in.
It means trusting that your practice doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s to be real.
And it means honouring the signals your body gives you. Do you need to spend a little longer here, or revisit this one again.

Beginners welcome.

You don’t need to muster up all the motivation and energy in the world. Book, turn up and then step into that Yin mode. Quiet, gentle and intentional.

There’s lots I could say about Yin. Like the fact the practice is designed to free and nourish our fascia network. Or how we hold the postures for minutes at a time. Or how there’s so much room for adjusting/propping them to suit you and your body.

But, I won’t go into that. Instead, I just want to remind you that slowing down feels good. Trying new things on your journey of health-wellness & fitness is empowering.

Perhaps you were trying Pilates for the first time, perhaps you’d never had a sauna experience before. We had four groups run through the sauna yesterday afternoon and sorry if I didn’t get a chance to catch up with you all afterwards.

If you need more mat Pilates in your life; we move on

Welcome to Body Nourished

Hello, it’s nice to see you here! My name is Kelsey Moore, I am the director of Body Nourished and the face behind our page too. I am from Opotiki, New Zealand and is my home again after spending a number of years living and working in the South Island. Opotiki is where our studio is based. I teach most of the Pilates and Yoga classes at Body Nourished, so I’ll start by sharing a bit about my journey in the hopes that some of it resonates with you. I first found Yoga properly in my early adult life and the opportunity for self-inquiry really hooked me good. I knew very early on that I wanted to work my way in to being able to share Yoga with more people and in communities that I really cared about. Though, I thought originally it might just compliment my work as a Registered Nutritionist. I found Pilates by default when I started teaching Les Mills Body Balance and things really expanded organically for me from this point and I found myself on many different training opportunities. I am trained in Stott Pilates and I really am so thankful for this, I think that Stott methodology adapts well to new research and different body’s too. My most recent Yoga training which very much expanded my World and the way I teach was 100-hour Yin Yoga teacher training with a trauma-informed lens. I really do love both practices and think that every body deserves the nourishment of them. I collaborate with other teachers where possible and I think that this helps improve the access to classes for people. I am so thankful for all of the amazing humans I get to work with and perhaps that could include you too?! Love & Light Kelsey
