This year, the World Stroke Organization is calling for us all to :
F = Face drooping
A = Arm weakness
S = Speech difficulty
T = Time to call emergency services

💜 25 October is PoTS Awareness Day in New Zealand💜
PoTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) is a condition that causes a number of symptoms when you transition from lying down to standing up, such as a fast heart rate, dizziness and fatigue. While there's no cure, several treatments and lifestyle changes can help manage the symptoms of POTS. This affects many New Zealanders yet many still do not know anything about it!

Each year on 25th October, people around the world mark PoTS Awareness Day, spotlighting Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS). In New Zealand, awareness is still growing, and so the 25th October is a chance for us to unite, raise visibility and advocate for better support, diagnosis and understanding here at home.

Visibility combats invisibility. PoTS is often “invisible” people may look fine outwardly yet struggle daily.

This year’s theme is “It’s Unacceptable!” because too many people with osteoporosis don’t get the care, support, or awareness they deserve.

Osteoporosis is often silent many only realize there's a problem when a fracture happens. But we can change that.

🔹 Eat for your bones (calcium, vitamin D)
🔹 Move with weight bearing & resistance training
🔹 Quit smoking, limit alcohol, avoid falls
🔹 Sign the IOF Global Patient Charter & share your story
