Started the year with Whakawātea in the beautiful moana of Paekākāriki.
Whakawātea is a powerful traditional Māori practice of cleansing and clearing your whare tapa wha (4 pillars of your home). Tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), wairua (spirit) and whānau (family roots).
I was taught by an amazing tohunga about the power and principle of clearing ones being of the trauma we so often hold within. What a difference it has made in my own personal life but also some of my loved ones.

2025 was most certainly a challenging year with many highs and many lows. However, I'm so very excited about 2026 and all the amazing things planned.

It's with great whakakorōria (honour) and gratitude (ngākau reka) that I graduated this year from my Heke Reo at Te Wānanga o Raukawa. Reclaiming our reo (language) has been my rongoā and has started healing some of the ancestral tauma that I hold deep within. Kei te mihi ki tāku whānau. I'm re-enrolled for the next two years.

He nui i tēnei ra! It's a big day today for us with our kapa haka tonight where we perform to our whānau, ngā hoa ma (friends) & pūkenga (teachers). We have been practicing our waiata, haka & kanikani all year....I didn't get much sleep last night with lots of emotions flowing. I needed to whakawātea to clear my emotions, wairua and recharge my tinana (body). Te Reo Māori i tēnei wiki. Let's celebrate by speaking Te Reo Māori, waiata, kanikani, pakipaki, katakata, hopehope. Ka arohanui ki a koutou. Kia kaha, kia maiah, kia manawanui.
