We also offer bespoke Leadership Training programmes for those working with volunteers or young people in the Waimakariri Area I offer competitively priced Supervision sessions for those working in the Youth Sector. We approach Supervision from a Strengths Based Person Centered Approach. Currently my rates are $30 for an Introduction 1 hr Session and then $60 for each session thereafter (this price includes travel time, supervision notes and a drink of your choice). I come to you and will meet you where you are. I am an active member of Canterbury Youth Worker's Collective. I hold an MA in Youth Work and a Certificate in Supervision for Health and Social Service Professionals from Unitec. I also offer training for organisations working with volunteers in the children and young people's sector. Our training packages are bespoke and can be tailored to suit you. We run training sessions, on Leadership, Disability, Games and so much more. We believe in working with all ages and abilities and actively use young people in our training sessions where ever possible

Today lets talk about Supervision and why it's important:

The primary functions of supervision are: administrative case management; reflecting on and learning from practice; personal support; professional development; and mediation, in which the supervisor acts as a bridge between the individual staff member and the organisation they work for. Organisations are likely to succeed by having workers who are skilful, knowledgeable, clear about their roles, and who are assisted in their practice by sound advice and emotional support. This should come from a supervisor with whom they have a good professional relationship.

Harakeke Supervision and Training

Harakeke Supervision and Training was set up as a way of connecting with other professionals in the Youth and Social Services sector to offer then excellent quality supervision and training. I am passionate about sharing my love for young people with others and helping them to grow and develop into well-rounded professionals. Harakeke was chosen as the name because I identified with the story of the plant sheltering it’s young, nurturing, protecting and developing them until they were ready to take on responsibility. Not only does the plant protect it’s own it also sustains life for others too. I believe that I too have something to offer in this field and can nurture and sustain others.

I offer competitively priced Supervision sessions for those working in the Youth and Social Services Sector. I approach Supervision from a Strengths Based Person Centered Approach.
