🐎 MELBOURNE CUP AT LONGRIDGE

Our residents didn’t muck around yesterday for Melbourne Cup day. The women looked especially fabulous in bold, colourful dresses, bright patterns and a few very impressive fascinators.

We had a sweepstake running, snacks on the go, bubbles and beers and plenty of cheering at the TV.

Thanks to everyone who got involved, you looked brilliant!

Meet Allan. 🚐
He's one of our residents who volunteers as a driver in Paeroa.
He helps with our village van too, driving residents to outings, shopping trips, and hospital appointments.

Retirement living at Longridge means you’re never on your own. From village outings to hospital visits, there’s always someone nearby if you need a lift.

Craft Day Buzz 🐝
Our recent Craft Day was packed with colour and talent, and every item on display was made by a Longridge resident. So much talent under one roof.

Every table was full of colour. Quilts, woodwork, leather, toys, preserves… I’m sure a few people walked away with early Christmas gifts (or treats for themselves).

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a good day. Big thanks to everyone who supported the makers.

Blue Ribbon Legends! 💙

Last week, our residents turned the village blue for a special Blue Ribbon Morning Tea.

They baked, raffled, played music and raised $692 to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ.

One of our residents also spoke about his experience with prostate cancer, helping bring some real-life perspective to the cause.

One in eight Kiwi men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

Big effort. Big hearts. Big result.
