MEASELS - what you need to know
We are reminded to remain vigilant following confirmation of a new measles case in Auckland recently.
Common symptoms: fever, cough, runny nose, sore eyes, followed by a red rash starting on the face and spreading down the body (typically 10–14 days after exposure).

People are considered immune if they:
- Were born before 1 January 1969, or
- Have had two documented MMR doses after 12 months of age
People unsure of their status should be vaccinated. It is safe to have MMR even if already immune.
