Beauchamps

Beauchamps Funeral home, crematorium, and generally all round cool people. We are a locally owned family run funeral home, crematorium and monumental masons.

Situated in Palmerston North, Beauchamp Chapel can hold small and large funerals seating 200 plus and provides a reception lounge for refreshments. The funeral home on John F Kennedy Drive was built in 2004 and designed by local architect David Chapple. Its modern design allows us to offer our families the most up to date technology, including webcasting all over the world. Beauchamp Funeral Home has been in the Feilding community for 25 years and now offers the choice of a wonderful new chapel, or a traditional homestead for smaller funerals. The architecturally designed contemporary chapel offers a serene setting with high ceilings and warm American oak joinery. It seats 170, with 40 more on a mezzanine level, plus standing room, a refreshment lounge and after-hours viewing room. There’s the latest in video recording as well as webcast capability, nationally and overseas. For funerals for up to 40, the ‘Feilding House’ chapel, built in 1926, offers 1920s character, on-site catering and restful private garden with mature trees. The Cobham Chapel, located at 18 Morris St, Marton, has a modern yet warm country-feel. The chapel will accommodate more than 150 people and includes all the latest audio visual technology as well as a fully equipped kitchen and lounge area. The beautiful work on the total transformation is testament to the many local contractors and suppliers involved.

As we look back at the history of our Christmas Remembrance Services, we’re reminded why this tradition matters so deeply.✨

Each year, we gather to honour the loved ones we carry in our hearts—those who aren’t with us in person, but whose presence still shapes our lives.

Christmas can feel different, quieter, even heavier without them.
But in remembering together, we find comfort, connection, and a gentle light in the season. 💛

May this Christmas bring you moments of peace, loved memories, and the assurance that you’re not walking this journey alone.

Details to our Christmas Remembrance Services are in the previous post - all are welcome.

✨ Christmas Remembrance Service – Next Week ✨

For 35 years, our annual Christmas Remembrance Service has offered a peaceful moment in the midst of a busy season — a time to come together, reflect, and honour the loved ones we hold in our hearts.

As Christmas approaches, we know the absence of someone special can feel especially profound. This gathering is a chance to remember, to share support, and to find comfort in community.

We invite you to join us next week as we pause, reflect, and celebrate the lives of those we dearly miss.
🕯️ All are welcome - please RSVP so we have a photo and for catering purposes

⚠️ A quick reminder for anyone watching a livestreamed funeral service:

It is always free to watch.

You will never be asked to pay, enter credit card details, or sign up for anything to view a service.
Sadly, scammers sometimes post fake links asking for payment. Please only use the official link provided directly by the family or by Beauchamp Funeral Home. If you see anything asking for money, it’s not legitimate.

We want everyone to be able to join safely, without stress or risk. ❤️

Emily has been at the New Zealand Independent Funeral Homes conference in Wellington this week.

We held a special Reunion Dinner for those that have been a massive driving force in NZIFH but have now retired. During our dinner we honoured the Four Founding Members with Life Membership.

What an absolute honour to present to these men - Wonder how many years experience is standing right there?!

Honouring Pioneers of Independent Care

This week we were incredibly proud to see our own Francis Day recognised alongside Alan Gillions, Barry Head and Peter Cohen as Life Members of New Zealand Independent Funeral Homes (NZIFH). The award was presented by Secretary Emily Marsden and President Clarke Campbell.

These four foundation leaders helped lay the foundations for an organisation that stands strong today — advocating for locally owned, community-focused funeral homes in an era where large corporate chains are becoming more common across Aotearoa.

At Day’s Funeral Services, we’re proud to be a 5th generation, family-owned business — and part of a collective that values authentic connection, trust, and local care above all else. NZIFH plays a vital role in ensuring independent funeral homes can continue to serve with integrity, heart, and personal attention.

Congratulations Francis – and thank you to all those who champion local, meaningful service.
