Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! ๐บ๐ธ๐ฆ๐คโจ
A few people have asked me what Thanksgiving actually is, so hereโs a little explanationโespecially for those of us here in New Zealand, where itโs not traditionally celebrated. ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฌ
Thanksgiving is an American holiday, held on the fourth Thursday of November, and itโs all about gratitude, family, food, and appreciating the good things in life. ๐๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ๐ฝ๏ธ๐งก
Historically, it began as a harvest celebration ๐พ๐, but today itโs less about history and more about the spirit of giving thanksโfor our health, our families, our friends, our communities, and the blessings (big or small) that show up in our lives. ๐ค๐
People usually gather for a big meal (think roast turkey, pumpkin pie, and all the trimmings) ๐ฆ๐ฅง๐ , share what theyโre grateful for, and spend the day slowing down and reconnecting. ๐ฏ๏ธ๐
Even though we donโt celebrate it here in NZ, I love the reminder it brings:
Pause. Reflect. Appreciate. โจ๐๐
So from me to youโthank you for your trust, your support and for allowing me to be part of your health and wellness journey.
