TONGUE AND TOES myofascial connection

Here is an image showing the fascia starting at the base of the tongue and going all the way to the toes.

From birth, your tongue is connected to your toes through an intricate network of connective tissue known as fascia.

If your tongue is not resting correctly in your mouth due to mouth breathing, things can get out of alignment in your mouth and the rest of your body.

Tongue posture can lead to a foot imbalance and vice versa because the tongue guides all myofascial continuity structures that run from the inner arch of the foot up through the middle of the body to the tongue and jaw muscles.

When the tongue sits on top of the palate, it seals the oral cavity and holds the throat open like a tent. These muscles support the neck, keep your posture straight, help you breathe, and maintain your posture upright.

Your tongue also acts as a rudder and support system through a fascial line, and when the tongue is down, we breathe through our mouth, and the head falls forward due to lack of support, which leads to poor posture and increased energy expenditure.

For better core support and spinal, hip, and leg strength, you need to work on your tongue posture!

Try these swallowing exercises:
1. Extend your tongue to the bumpy part on the top of your mouth right behind your teeth.
2. Then curl your tongue toward the back of your mouth as far as possible.
3. Hold for a few seconds.
4. Repeat five times.

In addition to this, a Functional Activator is a great tool that can be used to improve neck posture through tongue positioning.

Hi Everyone ~ I have been a little quiet on this page....all for a good reason. I have re-branded myself and my business. I have added and blended (hence the name) other therapies to my Reflexology. As you can imagine it takes time, and sometimes the time isn't quite right to make the jump. With a New Moon today, I am starting to shuffle across to my new page - BlendedTherapies.co.nz. I would love you to join me, so please feel free to connect and like my new page. In the meantime this page will remain open for a little longer. Looking forward to seeing you. Thanks to those who have already joined me. :)

From time to time as a Reflexology Practioner I meet new clients who are disgruntled with the series of medical professionals that they have visited in their effort to gain an answer to the issue that they are experiencing. They are disillusioned and annoyed that the Doctors either could not make a diagnosis, or if they did, they got it wrong.

Fast forward a few reflexology sessions and those same people are experiencing relief from their symptoms and feeling better.

Sometimes you need to see a Doctor and sometimes you need to see a Reflexologist. Thereโ€™s a time and a place for us both.

So, remember next time ... The solution you are seeking may be found in Reflexology!

Traditionally used for bowel health, Amla may not have the bowel intolerance issues associated with other vitamin C supplements.

One Amla berry contains as much vitamin C as two oranges and is also rich in nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, B vitamins and antioxidants.

Amla is a popular remedy in Ayurvedic medicine to support energy, immunity, longevity and optimal health.

An increase in free radical generation or an impaired antioxidant mechanism is known to result in oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is often implicated in poor immune system function.

Glutathione is an important antioxidant that supports the bodyโ€™s defences against reactive oxygen species (ROS) like free radicals, peroxides and heavy metals. Scientific research suggests that Amla may support healthy glutathione levels.

So many reflexologists out there.. But there are clients for all of us. We all train slightly differently, and we all treat people in slightly different ways to aim for the same end results of relaxation and health care. Firm pressure, light pressure, short intense treatments, longer relaxing treatments, RLD, VRT, Gentle Touch.. The choice can be confusing but the most important thing is that you connect with your reflexologist and enjoy your treatments. The best thing to do is try out a session with someone you have heard of, and see if you like it. Chances are you will โค๏ธ

Conscious Breathing - to those who are my Reflexology Clients, you may be interested to read this and how it works. Also, there is mention of the Vagus Nerve, which I/we often speak of. To my other Clients, this enhances other practices you use both with me and in your daily life.

Conscious breathing is helpful in preparation for meditation since it grounds your awareness and puts the mind-body system into a more relaxed framework. Learn what conscious breathing is, its benefits, and how to do it.

Not many actual words need to be spoken during a reflexology session at all really. ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’™
