September is Cervical Screening Awareness Month - A time to remind aged 25-69 wāhine and people with a cervix about the importance of staying up to date with their screening.

In 2023, HPV screening every five years became the new, better method for cervical screening in Aoteroa New Zealand. HPV vaginal swab looks for presence of HPV which causes cell changes that may lead to cervical cancer. Those aged 70-74 should have an HPV test to cease screening safely.

Cervical screening is FUNDED for:
〰️ those who have never had a test
〰️ those who are >5y overdue
〰️ those who need follow-up or surveillance
〰️ Māori, Pasifika and Community Services Card holders

Happy 50th anniversary of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, Māori Language Week! 🩷

By learning and using te reo, we help keep the language alive and strengthen the bonds within our communities.

One beautiful way to celebrate is through pepeha – a way of introducing ourselves and making connections. Whether Māori or non-Māori, everyone can share their pepeha respectfully to honour their roots, whakapapa, and place in the world 🌏

Let’s celebrate te reo Māori together – every word, every phrase, every pepeha keeps the language thriving 🫶🏻

✨ This year marks 50 years of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori | Māori Language Week! ✨

Te reo Māori is a taonga (treasure) — a language of connection, care, and community.

🗣️ Mana Medical Centre challenges you to try out a new word, greet your nurse with “Kia ora Nēhi,” or wish your whānau “Noho ora mai” (stay well). Every small step helps keep the language strong!

💬 Ake ake ake — forever and always, let’s celebrate and uplift te reo Māori together.
Kia kaha te reo Māori! 💛

🌼 DAFFODIL DAY is nearly here – Tomorrow, 29 August 2025

Every day in Aotearoa, 74 people are told “you have cancer.” Over a lifetime, 1 in 3 Kiwis will face a cancer diagnosis.

That’s why Daffodil Day, led by the Cancer Society of New Zealand, is so important. It’s a day to stand together, to support those affected, and to help fund vital cancer research, prevention, and care.

✨ How you can show your support:
- Make a donation
- Volunteer your time
- Fundraise in your community
- Buy fresh daffodils
- Wear yellow with pride
- Pin on a daffodil
- Share the message

Every little action adds up to something big 💛
