Today is World HPV Awareness Day 💜

Over 80% of unimmunised adults will get HPV (human papillomavirus) at some point in their life.

Some people never develop any symptoms, but for others it causes ge***al warts or certain cancers. Vaccination before becoming sexually active is the best way to prevent HPV infection and to protect against these cancers later in life:

- cervical cancer
- a**l cancer
- throat cancer
- vulvar and vaginal cancer
- pe**le cancer

So how can you best prevent against HPV-related cancer? 🤔

👉 Vaccination is the best protection against catching HPV. The HPV vaccine is free for ages 9 to 26. And is available for Year 7 & 8 students through the schools vaccination programme.

👉 Keep up with cervical screening – NZ offers an HPV self-test, which is a much less invasive option (95% of cervical cancers are caused by HPV!)

👉 If you have any symptoms or changes to your body such as pain, a new growth or bleeding in the a**l or ge***al area, make sure to get them checked by a healthcare provider.

The 3rd of March marks World Hearing Day! 👂

Today raises awareness around hearing loss, while promoting ear & hearing care.

The most common cause of loss of hearing is aging. However, the second most common is noise-induced, meaning it's preventable!

Here are some tips on avoiding noise-induced hearing loss:

1. Avoid excessively loud sounds (think fireworks, lawnmowers...) 🎆
2. Turn down that music! 🎧
3. Ensure proper hearing protection when you're unable to avoid loud sounds 💪

Your dog is born with certain traits but who they become is shaped by you. 🐾💛

Yes, genetics influence a dog’s temperament. But research shows the bigger impact comes from their environment.

Research shows that while genetics certainly shape a dog’s natural temperament, the biggest impact comes from the day‑to‑day experiences we provide:
– The way you raise them
– How you socialise them
– The training you put in every day

Every moment with your dog is an opportunity to build confidence, calmness, and connection.

Mark Vette breaks down why nurture matters most:

Did you know your sleep could be influencing your weight? ⚖️

The links between sleep, metabolism, and weight are often overlooked, but they matter more than we think.

For some, disrupted sleep leads to gradual weight gain and for others, it shows up as stronger cravings and more difficulty losing weight.

This month, Renee Naturally dives deep into how sleep affects our body’s natural rhythms and what you can do to support healthier habits from the inside out. 😴💛
