It is absolutely a thing to be freaked out by weather. Our nervous system hears the havoc winds and pounding rain. It waits, in the stress response, ready to save you. Wild weather also brings us an opportunity to switch what our mind is telling our body, to experience something else. Calmer, unchanging. Be prepared for rough weather, and then switch so you can sleep, digest and balance. Find your breath. Breathe deep into your belly, and on the outbreath let go of what you've been holding since the warnings began. The forecast inside your breathe is calm, soothing... like a still forest at sunrise.

Namaste Porirua, come support this awesome mahi... a temple for us to get closer to our Indian communities and learn about philosophy and Yoga ! The Trust is currently fundraising. Cobham Court, weekends. Or pop into Indo Kiwi Grocers and the closing down sale in the shop next door. Gorgeous Indian things for your home or work. And they aren't closing down - they are getting ready to transform the space into a temple. I keep going back to buy more chai mugs, bowls, saris, insense etc. Gee, you'd think I'd hadn't just back from India!

A beautiful young person said to me this week, "I want to bring back boredom because what we do is too crazy". What an enlightened thing to say. Stopping, stilling, expanding silence, being... does more than bring us calm. It leads us to Truth under the crazy. We have an inkling that the overwhelm and business is not who we truly are or want to be. Yogis over thousands of years who had/have nothing to prove cannot be wrong can they?
