💉 Fact of the Day: What is a Nurse Prescriber?

Did you know… not all prescriptions have to come from a doctor?

A Nurse Prescriber is a highly trained Registered Nurse who has completed extra study and certification that allows them to prescribe certain medications safely and independently.

We have 4 Nurse Prescribers who work at our clinic, helping diagnose, treat, and prescribe for common health conditions — making it quicker and easier for our patients to get the care they need.

Five new measles cases have been confirmed today – one in Dunedin, three in Auckland and one in Waikato. The number of known measles cases nationally since 8 October is now 27.

💙 Immunisation is your best protection. Two doses of the MMR vaccine protect 99% of people.

✅ No appointment? No problem! Many clinics and some pharmacies offer walk-in vaccinations.

🔍 Symptoms to watch for: high fever / cough, runny nose, sore red eyes / rash starting on the face, spreading down the body.

📞 Suspect measles? If you plan to visit a doctor's clinic, or urgent care, please make sure you call ahead before visiting. This enables the clinic to prepare and take the right precautions to protect others from catching measles.

Hi everyone,

A quick reminder for our under-14 families — our Little Feet Clinic is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to help your child be seen quickly when they’re unwell.

Appointments open at 6pm the night before and can be booked through the patient portal.
Here’s how:

Log in to the portal

Under Reason, choose “Child Unwell 3 months – 14 years”

It will then ask you to select a Provider — choose Nurse

You’ll then see Little Feet Clinic appointments appear

It’s fast, easy, and designed to get your tamariki seen promptly when they need it most.
